wake up call requested at night receptionist for 6.30 am but not being provided. no one at breakfast to receive us and to show us the breakfast process. Not a single word from the waiters asking us for coffee , boiled egg etc..... below Accor standards. Will come back on Saturday expecting lessons have been learned.

I've come to this hotel almost every year since the end of Covid as it's conveniently located and at a good price. The air con is good. I have to say I do enjoy the rooftop, and the bar / restaurant. The rooms are normally good value. They are cleaned and restocked well. I preferred it when there was a complimentary water bottle in the room - but the ice water at reception was fine. I know for a long time it's been paper cups, but I don't like the taste. I wasn't so happy I was facing the building undergoing redevelopment as normally I face the front of the hotel, but I knew the hotel was busy, and I booked late and I was just very thankful there was no noise. I felt the bed was a little bit uncomfortable, but I slept ok.

I had a nice stay at this hotel. The room was a bit worn, but still clean and comfortable. The facilities were good, and the pool area was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location made everything easy. I would stay here again.

2 stays, first one my mother was promised a room in the same floor, when she came back she was told she had to be at the second floor far from me, room didn’t have hot water. As a gold member, I wasn’t offered an upgrade in any of the stays. Second stay I was given a room full of humidity, ceiling in a terrible state, carpet full of water with a terrible smell. I complained and was changed a new room in a different floor again far from the second room. Only to find the hotel staff drinking at the bar and mocking me when I arrived. To finish, I requested an ironing board last day at 06:50 saying that I needed to head to the airport at 07:30 (the board arrived at 07:35) after 3 calls to reception which I couldn’t use. Terrible experience and terrible customer service.

We arrived in Athens at the beginning of our month in Greece. Novotel Athenes doesn't disappoint. Excellent view of the Acropolis from our room. Great service throughout, delicious food and drinks. Pool can get a little splashy but otherwise a wonderful place to hang out with a book.

I did online checkin and anyway it took approximately 10 minutes to get our keys, even being the only people in the lobby. Room was average, bathroom door is not a door but a glass door with 5 cms gap between door and floor - therefore no privacy at all. When going to dinner at rooftop, there was 2 of us and we were declined table with acrópolis view because it was a 4 seater. 5 minutes later another couple walks in and gets a 4 seater with view while we were left at the back. We had to escalate to manager to be moved up and that also ruined a bit the experience afterwards. Neighbourhood is rather dangerous after sunset, which required taxi in and out… in summary not at all the expected experience from booking a Novotel brand hotel.

+ super friendly staff at reception and housekeeping + clean + nice upgrade with balcony and free minibar greatly appreciated + beautiful rooftop pool and bar - a lot of wear and tear (especially the carpets should be replaced) - sketchy neighborhood - chaotic breakfast, seating too cramped - very limited pool hours - we were completed ignored at the rooftop bar (the staff member said he needed to check if we could sit only wanting to have drinks at 22:10 because it usually was supposed to be dinner until 22:30; he never came back to take our order, even though people were leaving and leaving and basically only we were left at some point)

- The buffet is good, large, and offers a good variety of food. - The housekeeping team are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They respond quickly to any requests, but the room was not very clean upon check-in, as there was noticeable dust. The housekeeping team would benefit from more training in cleaning and room maintenance. - The hotel is busy and there are many children, but the room was surprisingly quiet and we could not hear any noise. - The swimming pool is quite small and the water was cold. I would suggest installing a pool heater. - There are very few sun loungers around the pool, so I would recommend adding more chairs. - The hotel’s location is not ideal. There are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby, and the surrounding area is not well maintained. It does not feel comfortable or safe to walk around neither at day nor at night. - The hotel is quite far from the city centre, and there are no major attractions or important places within walking distance. - The metro station is around a 15-minute walk from the hotel. - The reception staff were not very welcoming. They were quite serious and could have been more friendly and helpful. - The room does not have a mirror, except for the bathroom. - The wardrobe doors are quite unusual and difficult to open and close. - The room and bathroom size are suitable and comfortable for two people. - Considering the Novotel name, this hotel does not feel similar to other Novotel Hotels.The hotel would benefit from improvements in its customer service and an overall renovation of the rooms.

Overall, our stay was comfortable. However, the pillows in both rooms were out of shape, which made our nights quite uncomfortable. I also noticed that some rooms were equipped with Nespresso coffee machines, but despite requesting one from reception, none was provided for either room. Additionally, the lady who checked us in and out appeared quite unfriendly and struggled to smile, which was surprising given the excellent reputation of this hotel chain worldwide.

Comfortable and clean rooms, reasonably spacious. Good location, but quiet. Good shower pressure, but not rainfall. Good standard breakfast, though not exceptional. On site restaurant ok, but plenty of other choices nearby. Overall a pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

The hotel is a standard Novotel, with all the amenities and comfort we are used to. One remark, we paid for a room with a view and we didn’t get it, even before raising the point to the front desk.
