We had a lovely holiday at the Waitui Club, thanks to all the staff who make this place so special. We enjoyed our ground floor access to the garden and all the inclusions which came with the Luxury Plus room. The high tea at the Journal Lounge is a lovely indulgence. Thank you so much for making our anniversary and birthday so special.

From the moment we arrived, we felt we were treated like royalty. Met by a young lad, Ivan who asked for our name. Ivan advised he will be driving us to our check in area where we met Tia who completed the check in process. Ivan continued to take us to the room and showed us around the property and provided a fun and informative tour. We were celebrating my husband’s 50th and the room decorated and styled tastefully. We enjoyed breakfast at various locations including the Beach Club (reserved for Beach Club rooms or Platinum / Diamond members. We also enjoyed breakfast in the main restaurant Bazaar and the Sofitel Club Lounge situated by the main lobby. All three options were of high standard however the service received by all staff at the Beach Club was exceptional. We had dinner at the many restaurants of the hotel and our favourite was Madame So which is a Vietnamese infusion. We also loved the seafood night at Bazaar on Saturday evenings. Our room was a Prestige Suite with garden and sea views. Featured a double basin, large bath and seperate shower. The large King Size bed was very comfortable with a pillow menu selection available. Our housekeepers and mini bar staff did a great job in looking after us and attentive throughout our stay. One notable difference was the removal of Balmain products featured in most Sofitel properties. Instead we had amenities by Pure Fiji. The resort also included a Pure Fiji shop where we purchased a few products to take home. During canapés most evening the hotels General Manager Jean-Philippe made himself known to all guests and provided a sense of welcome and spent time getting to know everyone. It was clear this style of leadership funnelled through the entire teams who were all as friendly and welcoming. The beach club manager Siti and his team were exceptional. Unfortunately we did not use any of the free or paid water sports due to the weather conditions. The adults only pool within the Beach Club provided quite the vibe with rotating canapés and beverages served between 11 and 3. The only suggestion here I would make is remove some Christmas carols and possibly have a more of a Cafe Del Mar vibe with melodic house music. The nightclub- this was the only downside to this amazing property. If a DJ is paid to play, he should read the dance floor instead of using his phone. No one at all in the nightclub yet refused our song requests. Eventually spoke to the manager who had DJ play a few party bangers. All guests got up to dance and the minute his poor value RnB and Rap music came on again, the dance floor cleared. This occurred a couple of time until a mass exodus of the bar and club. A nightclub should be full of uplifting dance music! The gym was exceptional although only open from 6am to 8pm unlike most other properties which offer 24/7 gym access. The gym does become very busy between 7 and 9am so best to get in early at 6 or throughout the day. The equipment includes state of the art life fitness machines and free weights. The fitness centre also has various classes including Yoga. A huge shout out to Joe and Va (Bazaar,) Paulini, Amelia, Siti, Skye, Kaya, Tia and everyone else at the Beqch Club, and all the housekeepers for such an incredible 9 night stay. The service here is true reflection of not only Fijian hospitality but also sets the standard for Sofitel Hotels and Resorts worldwide.

Dear Accor Guest Relations & Corporate Executive Team, I am writing to formally escalate a serious child-safety incident that occurred during our recent stay at the Sofitel Resort & Spa Fiji, and to raise concerns regarding the absence of follow-up despite local escalation. Booking reference: PNJSGCCF Property: Sofitel Resort & Spa Fiji On 07 December 2025, my four-year-old child (Magnus Cederkrantz) was signed into the resort’s Kids Club and left in the care of staff. Approximately 30 minutes after drop-off, my child was found alone and unsupervised in the resort swimming pool by myself. Critically, staff were unaware that he was missing, and no alert or search had been initiated. The Kids Club is located in close proximity to both the swimming pool and the beach, significantly increasing the risk associated with any lapse in supervision. A child of this age being able to leave the Kids Club undetected and access these areas represents a fundamental failure of safeguarding and supervision protocols. The potential consequences of this incident are self-evident and extremely serious. I wish to provide important context. I am a paediatric emergency medicine specialist, and throughout my career I have responded to far too many child drownings and near-drownings. These events are often silent, rapid, and devastating. Finding my own child alone in a pool under these circumstances was profoundly distressing, and I am acutely aware that this incident was a near-miss involving my own child. I am also an Accor Platinum member and an Accor Explorer Plus member. I raise this not to seek preferential treatment, but because it reflects my long-standing engagement with the Accor brand and my expectation that every child, regardless of status or circumstance, is kept safe when entrusted to an Accor-operated Kids Club. Accor Platinum number: 30…457A J Accor Explorer Plus number: 30…457A 3 On the same evening as the incident, I raised this matter directly in person with the duty manager at reception. I was assured that the incident would be investigated and that I would receive a further explanation. Despite this assurance, I have received no follow-up or communication, which is unacceptable given the seriousness of the event. We entrusted our child to the Kids Club with a reasonable expectation that appropriate headcounts, secure access controls, staff-to-child ratios, and active supervision would be in place. This expectation was not met. While we are fortunate that no harm occurred, this represents a serious breakdown in duty of care with potentially catastrophic consequences. We did not engage with Kids Club and further during our holiday both during this booking and our subsequent booking a week later. Given the gravity of this incident, I am requesting: A formal corporate-level review of the incident A written explanation of how this failure occurred Confirmation of the child-safeguarding and supervision policies in place at this property Details of the immediate and longer-term corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence - I recommend an immediate review of the gate and fence at Kids Club as a bare minimum. Clarification of how Accor ensures consistent compliance with child-safety standards across its resort portfolio This matter warrants urgent attention at a senior executive level. I would appreciate a prompt written response, including confirmation that this incident is under active review.
