A great family holiday!

We really enjoyed the stay here. We’ve been to Fiji 12+ times and love it. We loved the family room with bunk beds, it’s small but functional. The kids club options are brilliant and terrific staff. The pool is great and love the daily activities like aqua aerobics, fun for all and the little touches like the daily ice block break by the pool. The room service was fast and service so friendly. Only objection or complaint was the adults only Area. We dropped our daughter to kids club and headed over only to be told we couldn’t go to the restaurant or use the pool Area as we weren’t in the adults only wing. It felt really wasted opportunity to want to pay for lunch and drinks and be pushed away. We appreciate the adults only areas and has really looked forward to enjoying them. We were disappointed not to be able to experience it. I would really love to see that house guests can have the experience of experiencing the entire resort.

Beautiful resort, we had a fantastic time away and can’t wait for the next trip. The staff were all so friendly and by the end of day 1 had learnt our names. Highly recommend, food was incredible and the rooms super comfy

Sublime at the Sofitel

Friendly staff that go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Other resorts were not to the quality we experienced here. Leaving tomorrow but can't wait to get back. Kini, an employee, typifies the spirit of the resort. Happy, helpful and a gem to deal with. Can highly recommend Waitui Club too. Well worthwhile!

Bonjour Bula Rich K, Thank you for sharing your stay experience with our readers. We are delighted to hear that you have enjoyed your stay and been well looked after by our ambassadors, in particular Kini. We do wish you safe travels home and look forward to seeing you back on our shores in the near future. Vinaka, Sofitel Team

Very average food at The Bazaar, The Solis was great.

We dined on Monday 18 September with family at The Bazaar. We experienced that the food was mainly just warm and some food ran out. The food was extremely bland ie coleslaw had no dressing and it wasn’t fresh. The pork ribs had run out and other stations weren’t topped up, so you went round and round trying to find something. The Solis Restaurant on the other hand was excellent.

Nice but over priced

We spent a week here for my brother's wedding. The resort is lovely, but the prices are exorbitant in my opinion. To start, check in was reasonably easy. We were offered a welcome drink and the lobby was beautiful. We booked a family suite (for 2a and 2c). When booking, it was quite frustrating that there are no room types that allow 3 children - for a resort with many family activities this is quite poor. Luckily, i had family staying in the resort also so i added 1 kid to their room for the purpose of breakfast etc then had my 3rd child on a blow up mattress in our room as no rollaways are allowed. The family suite rooms were very expensive, at over $1000 AUD per night but we had little choice as my husband and i were both in the wedding party. This is more than i would expect to pay even in Australia so I was quite shocked. The family suite did offer good inclusions - access to the journal lounge which offers free drinks and snacks throughout the day (no kids are allowed -but they did offer us to have a high tea each day with the kids instead), kids club access, minibar which is replenished each day and washing service for as many items as required. The pool area is lovely and they have activities throughout the day which my kids loved - water aerobics, beach cricket and so on. The buffet breakfast was lovely and had SO many options... most anything you could dream to want for breakfast. Only complaint is no air conditioning and the coffee was made with long life milk. Our room itself had a lovely view but was still quite small... the kids had a bunk in a hallway type thing. Not amazing by any stretch for $1000+ per night. Kids club is ok, but mostly directed at younger children. My kids went twice for around and hour and then wanted to leave. There is an older kids zone also with playstation etc however this is unsupervised. For those of you thinking about a wedding here - it was a lovely wedding. The hair and make up people were fantastic and I had worried about this prior. They did a great job. Sofitel has a wedding every day pretty much from what I saw when we were there so they do not offer a rehearsal which did make the ceremony quite clunky. The marriage celebrant also got my brothers name wrong each time he said it despite being corrected at least 5 times before the ceremony (and 5 times during ha). Also, the sand on the beach is NOT white - it is more dark grey and this is not ideal when in a wedding dress and youre trying to take photos. Denarau itself is EXPENSIVE. Most restaurants are as much if not more than here in Oz. Same for shops. Overall, the resort is lovely but I would never pay the prices they are asking if I was not in a wedding there. It is nice, but the rooms are not amazing and I think there would be better deals elsewhere.
