Me and my partner checked into this hotel this evening, we went for a swim as soon as we got in shortly after we arrived to our room we notice blood on the sheets after I had already sat on them after further inspection I found a dirty thong just hanging out on the floor under the bed, I pick this up not realising what it is. Me and my parter are reasonable people and they offered us a new room, we were polite about this only to find out the room stank of cigarettes. We decide not to stay the night and head down to reception to find the general manager accusing me that it was my mess so he can not offer compensation which is not on, this is a safety and extreme biohazard. We were told that these room undergo a 3 person inspection which is very surprising to hear that 3 people have missed the basic health and safety standards of both rooms. I advise you don’t waste your money.

We take all reports relating to cleanliness, safety, and guest experience seriously and conducted a full internal review of this matter at the time it was raised. According to our records and staff reports, the guests occupied the original room for approximately four hours before any concerns were brought to our attention. During this period, the room was in the guests’ sole possession and control, with multiple exits and re-entries recorded. Prior to check-in, the room had passed our standard pre-arrival housekeeping procedures, which include documented inspections. Once the concerns were reported, our team responded promptly and offered an alternative room as a goodwill gesture, despite there being no objective evidence at that stage to indicate that the reported condition existed prior to occupancy. The replacement room was declined due to a reported odor of cigarette smoke. It is relevant to note that the guest confirmed they are a smoker, which made it difficult to independently verify the source or timing of the odor. Throughout the interaction, our staff remained professional and made reasonable efforts to resolve the situation. Subsequent requests were made for increasing levels of compensation; however, these could not be supported by verified findings or inspection records. In accordance with company policy, compensation cannot be offered where responsibility cannot be reasonably or objectively established. The decision to leave the property was made by the guests themselves. At no point were they asked to depart, nor were they refused assistance. We remain confident that our team followed appropriate procedures and acted in good faith to address the situation in a fair and proportionate manner. We stand by our housekeeping standards, inspection processes, and staff conduct. While we are always open to addressing genuine concerns, we must ensure that all outcomes are based on factual information, documented procedures, and the consistent application of policy.
