Although we are truly an animal-friendly hotel, it seems that some of our staff may have taken our hospitality too far. At the same time as you submitted your comment, management also noticed this cat inside the hotel late in the evening. We would like to formally apologize for the staff’s tolerance of the cat and assure you that we have since taken steps to ensure our evening visitor no longer enters the lobby or the front desk—of course, without causing any harm to the animal. Compared with the Novotel hotels I regularly stay at in France for business, I consider your hotel to be in a clearly superior category. It is modern, beautifully designed, the parking is excellent and extremely convenient, and the breakfast is very good. Congratulations to the team. Unfortunately, I don't think the restaurant is at the same level as the hotel. The menu offers rather limited choice and, in my experience, the dishes were poorly executed. The selection of wines by the glass is also very limited and of rather average quality (Bardolino being the only red wine available by the glass).

Three of the people in our party are return guests of Novotel Regensburg Zentrum. Because we enjoyed our previous stay, were pleased with the accommodations and the location, and received exceptional service and assistance from Faizi, we wanted to stay there again. The majority of the staff was also friendly and helpful which was an improvement over last year with a couple of exceptions. The onsite restaurant and bar are also a great feature. The rooms are a good size and the layout is great, especially for an extended stay like ours. The lobby area is a plus and makes you feel like you are in a home despite sharing with the other guests. There is also a nice patio area that we used daily which the restaurant and bar services. While we understand that this is a pet-friendly hotel, there were some issues related to the pet guests. It was obvious that the hallways were not vacuumed regularly as there was debris and pet hair that remained in the same places throughout our stay. Pets were also relieving themselves in common hotel outdoor areas like the steps, walkway, and patio and those areas did not appear to be cleaned regularly. Additionally, staff allowed a feral cat access to the hotel on a nightly basis. Not only was the cat allowed to roam freely throughout the lobby, patio, front desk area, and staff area, it was also allowed to walk on the surface of the front desk. Some of the employees provided food and water to the cat which I am sure is part of the reason the cat returned nightly. The biggest issue for me was that some of the employees petted the cat and did not wash their hands prior to servicing guests including some bar employees. Another issue is that is was inconsiderate of guests who are not fans of pets or have pet allergies. Allowing a feral cat free access in hotel areas can potentially be life-threatening for some people. As an allergy sufferer it did present some issues for me which I tried to avoid and remedy with medication. Also a family was checking in and the daughter appeared to be afraid of cats as she ran when she saw it and continued to move to keep as far away from the cat as possible. The front desk employee, who had just been petting the cat, seemed oblivious to the girl's reaction and fright and allowed the cat to continue to roam the lobby and front desk area. Unless our plans change, it is our intention to book at the hotel again next year. I pray that changes are made to resolve the feral cat issue, the cleaning concerns, and the friendliness and helpfulness of some employees.

The room was good. On arrival as a welcome gift we were given a small bottle of water & told if we needed more they would give us more at reception. When we asked for more water the next day we were told that it was 2 euros 80cents for a bottle. The Hotel only services the rooms after you have stayed 4 nights. We stayed 4 nights so our room wasn’t serviced. The bins weren’t emptied, towels not replaced & the bed wasn’t made. The breakfast was also of a poor standard. As a Gold member I couldn’t recommend this hotel. If we hadn’t prepaid we would have checked out early.

Every day, we and our staff are deeply committed to ensuring that our guests enjoy a smooth and pleasant stay that meets the global Novotel standard. In fact, this year—like almost all of our direct competitors in Regensburg in recent years and months—we have switched to the aforementioned 3-day cleaning cycle and are clearly communicating this change via signs at check-in. This decision was not an easy one for us, and it was NOT primarily driven by sustainability considerations or initiatives from Accor or us as hotel operators; rather, it was unfortunately necessary because, as a hotel business, we could no longer fully pass on the sharp increases in labor, energy, and other costs to our guests. However, we can assure you that the basic hygiene of the rooms will not be compromised by this new cleaning cycle, and the rooms will always be in immaculate condition upon the arrival of new guests. As described in the electronic guest information in your room, we are still happy to bring fresh towels, toilet paper, and all other amenities to your room upon request, and coffee, tea, and all other items are available at the front desk for quick pickup. In fact, as a welcome gesture, our guests will find a 0.5-liter bottle of MINERAL water and a stocked minibar upon arrival. In addition, we sell bottled MINERAL water at our lobby kiosk for a reasonable 2.80 euros; However, the tap water in our hotel—as everywhere in Germany—is of drinking water quality and can be enjoyed straight from the tap as mentioned in the electronic guest directory as well. There is also a large dispenser at the front desk offering chilled tap water free of charge. We regret that, from your perspective—unlike that of most of our other guests (the hotel has been voted the best-rated Novotel hotels in the DACH region for each of the past three years)—we were unable to meet your desired and expected level of hospitality. Nice hotel BUT unfortunately air conditioning did not work at night and when I discussed it with front desk, they said this is a SMART UNIT and adjust inside/outside temperature and unfortunately they can’t do anything about it, we should open the window 😳, a lot of noises from street plus to warm in the room to sleep

Our hotel, which opened in 2020, was designed and built according to a modern, certified German low-energy standard. This certification specifically includes a modern reversible air conditioning system that provides cooling or heating capacity in accordance with applicable requirements, depending on the outdoor temperature measured on-site. In our case, this corresponds to an outdoor temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, measured on the roof of the building. Below this threshold, the system ventilates the rooms with 19-degree outdoor air or provides heating. The air conditioning system is therefore not operated at our discretion, but in accordance with German regulations, and is part of Accor’s sustainability efforts, which aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. However, for guests who prefer to sleep with the window open, rooms overlooking the very quiet inner courtyard are available upon request. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel. The air-con doesn't work due to your very stupid ustainabiliy policy. Outside temp less than 20 degree and Aircon switch-off (not even fan works). Need to change the room at 3am and the same condition in another room as well. End up spending sleepless night before a very important business meeting. You really needs to review the air-con policy and if you still wants to stick to it, give people option to have a portable fan in the room. DOn't just force you policy to make the room a ovan with people bake in it.

We had a really nice stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room felt fresh and well-maintained. Considering the heat outside, the air conditioning was much appreciated. The only downside was that food service was not available until 18:30, which felt a bit late. Additionally, the breakfast did not quite meet expectations compared to other hotel breakfasts
