Charming reception staff. Room bit small (as I needed to work using desk) but otherwise spotless and everything that you need. Bar and restaurant amazing, lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast plentiful and served by lovely staff on Christmas day. Overall beautiful, historic hotel but what makes it is the staff: non pretentious, make you feel at home, from cleaners, reception, waiting, greeters, all staff 5 star

We had a family Christmas in Liverpool. Sadly our Mum was unwell, but staff made our visit wonderful despite this. I would happily give staff 10+, I had a card with all the names I wanted to mention, but have mislaid it. This review has also been delayed as our Mum was rushed into hospital on our return (she is recovering in hospital now). Staff I remember are Alice, Ben and Jamie on the door. Cheryl, who did our treatments, but basically all the staff we encountered. Alice solved every little issue or need with a huge smile, we all wanted to be her best friend! Jamie found us a parking space, when we struggled and had our disabled Mum on board. He stayed with us and made sure we got safely into the hotel. Cheryl was so delightful, she did my nails and we had a lovely chat and Natalie was quick to change my treatment, when I could not lid on the treatment bed. I cannot express how warm and helpful they all were, going way beyond to make our stay special. They were all wonderful! My only criticism is the rooms were a little stuffy and the air con problematic. We were also disappointed with the quality of the food on Saturday night. However, the warmth of the staff more than made up for this and it was a fantastic stay. I hope that the hotel appreciates the dedication and work ethic of your fantastic staff. We all also agreed that the quality of the bedding was excellent, especially your pillows. Loved the location and the interior design of the building. But clearly the standout was the staff, a big thank you to all! Jackie B.
