We decided to stay on Christmas Eve, due to a family gathering on the north shore in Auckland. On our arrival we where meet with friendly staff member at reception due to our late arrival. But unfortunately the next day total different, breakfast was good and the service was ok. I had to ask for our room to be service at 3:30 there was so many front staff but not friendly at all, we felt like it was a huge asked, also missed the tea and milk supplies.We went for afternoon tea at 3:30 in the club lounge not good not greeted at all to much of a effect we where not impressed.We like staying at the Sofitel especially the location as everything is in walking distance to restaurants and shops and normal a great place.I know it was a public holiday but there is no excuse for bad service, not friendly and lack of hospitality in the hotel 🏨 industry. I just hope you take all this information on board. Thank you

We have great affection for your hotel, and we hope our feedback is useful and constructive. We appreciate that at the time of year of our visit, staffing can be an issue, but our consistent impression was that the hotel was understaffed, and it showed across the board. We are not criticising your staff - they were universally polite and friendly - our almost universal impression this visit was that they lacked the confidence, maturity and hotel knowledge that guests should expect. We also bought club membership again as we really enjoyed this during our preious visit. We would not do this again - eg, world darts championships is not suitable viewing ( several nights in a row); food choice, particularly savoury food, is limited; staff are frequently unavailable for long periods to provide drinks; and non-guests randomly come in and helps themselves to food. Seems the word is out!

An arrival we could not even figure out where to go.As there are no signs for reception. I was actually calling out down the hallway for a couple of minutes before anyone even showed up to help us with our bags. Several times I called down to the front desk or any of the numbers for assistance, there was almost always no answer. Once I let it ring for ten minutes. When I asked at the front desk what the problem was, they said." We were very busy!" The "concierge" Kareem ask us about our plans and we mentioned the two restaurants we had dinner reservations at:Kingi and Sidart which he said we're excellent choices. The next night on new year's eve.When we arrived at Sidart.. We wish shocked to see that they had been closed for some time. I guess Kareem did not know. We had very little choices and ended up eating in the tapas bar at the hotel. After dinner we went to nap before the fireworks. But the noise from the street was so horrific. We could not even think of sleeping..your manager Manik said that noise is an issue and they do not have good windows to keep it out! ONLY Pol who was at the hotel on new year's eve when we returned (from the cancellee Sidart)seemed to care about us. Simply, let's just say we did not feel welcome.

Paid $1600 for one night and honestly cannot understand what the cost was for. This was not a suite, not particularly spacious, and absolutely not what I’d expect from a so-called luxury hotel. The room was freezing — even with the heat turned up and an additional heater on, it was still colder inside than outside. Service was average at best, nothing that justified the price. The room itself was very standard, definitely not “luxury.” To make it worse, we were contacted twice asking if we were checking out despite having booked a late checkout until 12pm, which was frustrating and disruptive. Extremely disappointing experience overall. This was sold as one of their better rooms — if this is the standard, I wouldn’t return.

It was our 2nd stay at this Sofitel and this time with my parents. Even the standard rooms are spacious and luxurious. We felt well looked after and loved the extensive breakfast options. All the staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful. A beautiful, relaxing Christmas..Thank you.
