My experience with the Auckland Sofitel was underwhelming. The Club is not a match on Sydney or Melbourne. Staff service levels at reception breakfast and in the club were poor. Staff require significant training.

The hotel was beautifully laid out, staff were welcoming, we got an upgrade, 1st impressions of the room was nice.

Overall a comfortable hotel, staff were friendly, especially in the bar and at concierge. My main issue was with housekeeping. A lot of hotels are now moving to more sustainable practices of not servicing the rooms daily or at least giving people the option, M gallery in Queenstown even offer a voucher or donation to a local charity if you choose not to have housekeeping. There was a card to leave on the door but despite doing this I still had my room cleaned. I only ever left towels to be changed on the floor and despite this all of my towels were changed daily. Other little things like repeatedly leaving green tea packets when it clearly wasn't being used and not replacing the teas that were, was just another example. I appreciate that it is a hotel but there were some pretty terrible stains on the carpet in mine and my mums room which made it feel less clean. Despite these things it is overall still a good hotel in a quiet spot but a bit over-priced for what it is. I wouldn't not stay here again but I would look at other options first

Had a great time at the Sofitel. Staff was very friendly and welcomed us and appreciated the upgrade. My daughter loves the wee sheep they gave her. Room was clean and tidy. Expected a more comfortable bed however for Sofitel standard as it was two beds pushed together and zipped up leaving a noticeable dip in the middle. Another concern which I brought up with staff upon check out was that the house keeper that serviced our room left an open bottle of bright green disinfected in the bathroom by toilet, I assume this is what they cleaned the toilet with. My toddler daughter walked out of the bathroom into room with it with cap opened asking what this was. Luckily she drink it (I dont think she did) but was upset that chemicals was left in bathroom like this where my child got access to it. Please ensure housekeeping are checking they have everything before leaving room. Only giving our stay an 7 for this reason.

We stayed for four nights at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct and had A. great stay. We had A. beautiful room over looking the marina and looking directly up at the sky tower.Right from arrival Careem met us and took us to reception to check out with Billie we were totally looked after, we really needed A. break and we got it so this is definitely the place to stay.
