We had a good stay in room 612. Enjoyed the location, food at La Maree was good too. Thomas at reception was very knowledgeable and helpful. Room was clean, spacious and complementary water was much appreciated. We needed to remove the mattress topper as bed was way too soft to our liking, also one light bulb was missing on the ceiling. The fan in the bathroom is not extracting the steam, had to open the bathroom door after every shower. Shower tap is very hard to turn on, as well as to move left or right. Water in the sink going down very slow. Just minor plumbing maintenance needed to make the experience perfect. Thank you

We always enjoy our stay at Sofitel Viaduct. The staff are all lovely. The restaurant is always a nice place to be, we enjoy the pool area. It is a convenient stay for us .... living in the country we find it easy to get to and enjoy. Rooms are always clean and we like staying on the quiet side of the hotel. Great rooms and location but with subpar service

Overall, not the luxury hotel experience I was expecting. I received better service at the Holiday Inn Express in Queenstown compared to Sofitel Auckland. Pros: 1. Beautiful, large rooms. 2. Soft, comfortable bed. 3. Central location within downtown Auckland. Cons: 1. Due to my non-Western name, the staff assumed I am a man. The welcome screen on the TV in the room and the welcome card all stated "Welcome Mr. _____." When making the hotel reservation, there was not a space to fill out gender of the guest, not that a guest's gender matters. The hotel shouldn't assume the gender based on someone's name. 2. Front desk staff not familiar with American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts program and benefits. The program comes with guaranteed 4PM checkout. When I inquired about a late checkout and asked for a 2PM checkout, the front desk staff said she has to ask her manager and get back to me. 3. There were blood stains on the comforter. 4. La Maree dinner service and quality were poor. My husband and I both ordered medium rare steak. The steaks we received had hardly any red in the center and was more medium or medium-well. We were also seated by a wall with no view, when there were better tables available around us throughout the time we were there.

Had a solo stay here for 4 nights and from check-in to check-out was met with great service. I made the most of the Club Access, as well as the Pool, Spa and Gym which were great. Great location, walking distance from a variety of restaurants on Wynyard. Amazing views of the harbour from my balcony. Thank you for having me - I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
