The bathroom was unclean, the plugs on one side of the room weren’t working and neither was the phone and we were charged $40 per hour to stay an extra hour even though I told the reception staff I had a medical issue and needed rest.

Its clean, and you have tried to make it nice but honestly i cannot work out how you have the rating that you do, it sold run down rooms/bathrooms are terrible. The toilet is hard against the wall so you can even sit on it. Old external windows that let in lots of road noise. It needs more than a the lick of paint you have given it

This is a thinly veiled roadside motel. The room was very noisy, the property was cheaply renovated, the service was not good. We missed out on breakfast as we were not told it was closing at 9.30am, called up about extra blankets and a roll out bed at 1am and staff seemed very confused. We received three sheets instead... Just a solid awful experience

The customer service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and, overall, everything was fine. However, I feel the price was quite high for just one night, especially considering that breakfast was not included. There was also no toothbrush provided, although this was resolved when we asked. Unfortunately, I can’t say the stay was particularly comfortable. We could hear some knocking or unusual noise coming from the wall, although I’m not sure exactly where it was coming from. The shower was also quite noisy when in use. The refrigerator was switched off and didn’t seem to be sitting properly, but after adjusting it slightly, it started working. Overall, the staff and service were great, but considering the price, I expected a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Stayed overnight and attended a workshop in the conference centre. The room was large and clean, could hear the neighbours though, but generally pretty good. The hotel was generally very well appointed and the food in the restaurant was great too.

We were staying at the hotel because our son was participating in the AIMS Games, and on the second morning he had an early event. We approached the front desk manager to ask whether it might be possible to arrange a simple breakfast that we could have in our room, or whether there was any alternative option available given the early schedule. Unfortunately, the response was no without any explanation or attempt to offer an alternative. A little more warmth and willingness to help would have made a big difference, especially for families staying at the hotel for an event.

The hotel took advantage of the high demand caused by the Aims Games to up the price to around $450 per night. The room was barely worth $200. Very tired decor. No ventilation or heating in the bathroom. Shower very variable pressure and fixed head far too low. More the quality I would expect in an up-market hostel, not a mid-market hotel.

The bathroom was pretty gross, pink mold in the shower, the shower screen was dirty Other than that happy with our stay and the regular service of the room was good and glad the maid hadn’t change our bedding or moved the stuff off the bed aswell, happy with only rubbish and towels

I travel a lot and generally have great experiences with Accor affiliated hotels, also being a member of their explore programme. Unfortunately it can’t be said for this trip. On arrival we were told we couldn’t check in at the advertised 2pm on the booking, due to being busy and rooms still needing to be cleaned, which we were then asked to return at 3pm. We arrived back at 3pm only to be told the room was still not ready and to please wait 10mins. 45mins later we got our room. Once in the room we found empty beer can on the balcony, body wash dispenser empty, and missing towels. I could mention a few other things about where the hotel was a let down but would run out of words. One positive is the lady who eventually checked us in was very polite and welcoming. It’s not in my nature to write a negative review, but felt this experience left me know choice.

My wife and I had been traveling throughout NZ North Island and need a place to relax for the evening. Mercies Tauranga was exactly that. Clean, safe, and great location. Add plus is the laundry facilities available to guests. My wife and I were able to wash clothes and refreshed up. The hotel staff was also very friendly and customer service was top notch. It’s an older property that could use some TLC in certain areas. The bedding can also be a bit more comfortable. Overall, good stay!

Staff were lovely but facilities and amenities do not match the price or star rating. Bathrooms are extremely old, there nothing to use in room, TV casting didn’t work, walls are so thin can hear everything up and down the rooms and halls, was NOT a king bed but two singles pushed together, breakfast was basic, no service to rooms for even simple things. 3 star at a stretch. Need a lot of physical improvements and possibly service improvements if want to decent rating or to charge that much.
