The location was fantastic, both for the city and the MCG. We were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The room was very clean and had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. We have already booked to stay again.

I booked 3 2-bedroom dual rooms for our stay in the city. Mantra is normally top quality, and on entry the premises was exceptional, even the rooms looked great. I don't normally review, but we had 1 faulty air-conditioning unit (409), both the showers in 407/408 had temperature issues - particularly dangerous for small children due to the extreme heat. At full open, the cold could not reduce down the temperate from scolding unless dropping heat down low enough that the shower pressure itself was reduced/trickling. In 405/406, we had interference on the tv (all of which are extremely dated considering the cost of basic smart TV's). We struggled to get into 405/406 and were advised the lock 'may' be a bit fiddly. None of this would have actually meant I reviewed negatively as I really do not like doing so, but getting woken up Monday morning to a blaring alert over the fire alarm/PA system advising to evacuate immediately for over 2 minutes, with no follow up cancellation notice (we had to ring), and approx 5 minutes later for a second one to go off. No apology on check-out, no acknowledgement of the issue until I raised it on checkout. Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when spending $350+ a night per room (across 3 rooms) to receive such an abundance of issues.

The air-conditioning fault, shower temperature fluctuations—particularly concerning with young children—and the TV and door lock issues are certainly not reflective of the standard we aim to provide. Your comments have been escalated to our maintenance and engineering teams to ensure these matters are addressed promptly. We are especially sorry for the disruption caused by the fire alarm announcements. We understand how unsettling this would have been, particularly in the early morning, and we acknowledge that clearer communication and follow-up should have been provided. We also regret that this was not proactively addressed at check-out, and that you had to raise the concern yourself. Your feedback is invaluable, and we take it seriously. It helps us identify gaps and improve both our facilities and service delivery. Hotel was easy to get to, close to the MCG, which was great for us, there was a little miss communication with whether we had parking or not, which would have been clear if I called prior to arrival, but was rectified when we arrived. Room was great for our family of 5 and facilities like buffet breakfast, swimming pool and gymnasium were great options to have. They held our bags at check out while we did a few other things in the city which we were grateful for. I did think that more could have been done when we had to evacuate due to a fire share at 7am, possibly some communication or discount of breakfast as this was very inconvenient due to us wanting a nice big sleep in when we run a farm day to day and were using this trip as a reset from our typical before 5am starts of day. Also for the anxiety it caused our kids. All in all we would stay again.
