Overall, our stay at Mantra on Jolimont was pleasant. The location is excellent, with convenient access to public transport and easy access to Melbourne's CBD, making it a great base for sightseeing. However, I was quite disappointed with the food and beverage facilities. For a 4-star hotel, I expected more dining options. Apart from breakfast, which finishes at 10:30 am, there is no restaurant serving lunch or dinner and no bar for guests to enjoy a drink in the evening. While the hotel is close to the city, there are very few pubs or bistros within easy walking distance, especially for families. Having at least a limited all-day dining menu or evening food and beverage service would have made our stay much more enjoyable. In addition, when I requested some ice from reception for our room, I was advised that none was available at the time. Given that there is no bar or food and beverage service operating, I would have expected the hotel to be able to provide a simple request such as ice for guests.

The hotel was lovely. The staff very friendly and helpful. Car parking spaces are very small. It would be ideal if the restaurant downstairs was also open for dinner. We had young children and either used Uber Eats or we caught the train back into the city. We had family located in a room on another floor. The tags only allow access to the floor your room is on so it was logistically annoying to go between our rooms. Beds were very comfy. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would stay again.
