Poor service overall. The staff was occupied with an event and couldn’t properly manage guests who weren’t a part of it. We weren’t accommodated for lunch, and even basic requests weren’t being attended to. Quite disappointing.

Mats in the room were really dirty. Staff at the merchants restaurant were rude during breakfast, only one server was genuinely helpful. In room dining order was totally messed up, we were delivered wrong items to the room. I have stayed here before and the stay was good earlier too, but this time it was really bad. After the checkout or during the check out no one had courtesy to ask about the problems we faced during our stay at the front desk. All they cared was if my room dues were cleared or not. Forget apology but not even concerned or wanting to hear guest. In short nobody really cared.

good , but to noisy , the wedding function took over the hotel , loud music till 2am , and guest was too noisy leaving doors open and running around the corridors

The checkin was a very unpleasant experience as the person (Nakul) who checked us in was not too welcoming or happy as would be expected from a hospitality person at a property like Fairmont. He was very transactional. I am a world of hyatt, Bonvoy and Taj Inner circle member and travel avidly which includes staying at luxury hotels of these group as frequent as once every week. The employees at most of their properties go out of their way without even asking to make the stay memorable and offering excellent services. Although here I did inform Nakul about how frequently I travel and that this is the first time I am staying at this particular property and looking forward to start a similar relationship with the Accor group like I have with the other hotel groups but most of the requests (given as alternative one after the other) were declined. I was given an upgrade however to almost similar size of room and with the same city view that I had in my originally booked room. With this disappointing experience after checking in to the room, I ordered dinner from IRD but the breads were hardly palatable. We had to sent back some portion of the bread and being extremely tired and hungry I had no option or patience left than to somehow eat what was sent. The manager at IRD was however very sincere to call and apologise. The next morning was a very different story. The breakfast spread was amazing, it was great in taste and quality. The staff was very courteous, welcoming and generous with big smiles on their faces. Big shout out for Umar who was amazing and made sure we were comfortable and was very attentive and sincere. I think that was the highlight of my stay and hence a rating of 4 or 1 would have been my ideal choice if it was not for Umar.
