Room is very clean and comfortable, staffs are friendly with warm welcome us upon arrived.
Exceptional breakfast variety and great view by the beach. However, cocktail recipe must be improve. We ordered 2 cocktails, and the taste was terrible. I recommend revising the recipes and switching to fresh lime juice for better taste

We have travelled to so many beautiful places in Thailand Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samui and many others and we have stayed at quite a few fivestar hotels along the way. But Mercure Rayong Lomtalay is honestly one of those rare places that feels like a hidden gem. This was actually our third stay, and every time I come back, I understand more and more why I love this place. One time our Room was 2104, with an amazing oceanview. Waking up and looking out at the sea was simply beautiful. Another big plus for us is that the hotel is petfriendly. We travelled with our Golden Retriever, and it made the experience even more special. Being able to enjoy a beautiful beachfront resort together with our dog is something we really appreciate. We have stayed at many luxury hotels and beach resorts around Thailand, but there is something different about Mercure Rayong Lomtalay. It feels peaceful, beautiful, comfortable and genuinely relaxing. And a special thanks to Khun Meem at the reception for her warm welcome, kindness and excellent service. She made our stay even more memorable. ❤️ One moment that really touched us happened during our second visit a few months ago. That time, we didn’t bring our Golden Retriever, Milo, with us. When we arrived at reception, the girl in the reception immediately recognized us and asked, “Where is Milo?” Honestly, we were so happy and touched that she remembered his name. ❤️ It may seem like a small thing, but to us, it meant a lot. It showed how genuinely warm and caring she is, and it made us feel like we were coming back to a place where people actually remembered us.

As title, we found cockroach in the room and a lot of mosquitoes. Me and my kid hardly sleeps during the night (she even got bitten on her face). I will give you 3 because your staffs is good and the room overall is comfortable. It just the bug that causing problem.

Room702 aircon was too warm & stuffy at 22• & very cold at 23•
The water was not hot enough.
Swimming pool had a lot of leaves on the surface & at the bottom of the pool. They tend to stick to face & body when swimming.

The hotel experience was great and the staff lovely. Room was very nice and comfortable. What we didn't expect was that the roof top bar and breakfast at our resort was not operating. This had not been advised upfront. We felt a lttle short-changed. Commuting to the other Mercure Resort for breakfast was a good work around though. This gave us the experince of this other hotel.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with my stays here. I always feel good staying at the hotel and want to keep coming back—which I do, about three times a year. The price is reasonable, and the facilities are quite complete, to the point that I hardly need to leave the property.
There are a few small points that I think could be improved to make guests’ experiences even better, although none of them are particularly serious. For example, the shuttle between the Garden Wing and Ocean Wing is good when using the van, but the pickup truck smells strongly of diesel fumes, has a roof that is too low, is quite bumpy, and doesn’t feel particularly safe. The bathroom near the playroom is also quite dark when the lights are off, which can feel a little creepy.
I’m also concerned about the security around the back of the hotel, where staff can easily walk in and out. I’m sure outsiders could park their vehicles at the back and easily mix in with guests. I think staff should have to scan their ID cards when entering this area to prevent outsiders from wandering in and using the facilities.
The outdoor parking area could also use some shade. I feel sorry for guests’ cars because the sun by the seaside is incredibly hot and intense. Another point is the cleanliness of the air-conditioning filters and underneath the bed in my room. I often find quite a thick layer of dust there, even though the air conditioning itself works well (and can get very cold if needed, still).
As for some members of the service staff, a few of them seem to chat and joke around with each other a little too much, to the point where they sometimes lose the professional image of being genuinely willing to serve hotel guests. Some also speak with rather neutral or expressionless faces. Fortunately, none of them were rude, and at least they seemed willing to answer questions and provide information and generally appeared to know what they were talking about.
I do, however, have to give special praise to the staff who take care of the playroom, which my daughter and I really enjoy visiting. Whenever we go in, the game machines and the PlayStation console are clean, and the seating area is neatly and thoughtfully arranged and kept clean. The housekeeping staff at this hotel have never disappointed me. I often go out of my way to compliment them, and I honestly wish I could give them a really generous tip, although they somehow always seem to disappear whenever I try to catch them!
Overall, this is still one of my first choices (second would be Escape Condo next to Ocean Wing) when I want to get away and relax, and I and my family will definitely be coming back again. I hope you won’t let us down!
