The best part is the convenient location to Kyoto station. However, the rooms are very dusty. It might be due to the eco policy of cleaning every 3 days, or it might be due to all the fabric walls. You can see the dust floating around when waiting in front of the lift. The stay was okay but not really comfortable due to the dust.

Both in the property & Agoda platform, it was stated that the rooms were air-conditioned. However, only realised it that in the night that there was no AC in the room. I was told by the staff that I had to lived with it. Even though I tried opening the window to let cold breeze to come into the room, but it was noisy & I wasn’t able to regulate the temperature in the room. As a result, I had to closed the window which resulted into in poor ventilation in the room. I was not able to sleep well & it was the worst accommodation I had in my 2 weeks in Japan despite staying in a global branded hotel compared with the local hotels. The following morning, when I brought up the problem with the reception staff, they allowed me to cancel the remaining 2 nights accommodation with penalties. However, I realised that Ibis charged me more than the pro- rated amount from Agoda for the first night. In addition, I paid 3 nights of local tax upon check in but the taxes for the 2 nights weren’t refunded. How is it that the one night accommodation was charged to me was higher than what I had paid to Agoda & no explanation was given to me? I found this experience literally ruined my holidays in Japan & I had lost trust in Accor though I had several contacts with several senior executives of Accor in France.

Nice location, the view from the room was excellent. The hotel is just outside the kyoto station. The hospitality is also good along with the breakfast.
