The back of the hotel entrance is very confusing with huge McDonalds signs and drive through takeaway dominating the shared ground floor of this hotel building. Then the reception desk person insisted there were no rooms left at our pre booked and paid price! We finally asked to talk with the manager. She did explain that we were a lower priority for rooms since we used third party to pre book. Finally after much time we got a room without having to pay more.

I should have checked the location better as this hotel is not easily accessible from the train station on foot.the balcony would not be suitable with small child as low edges. No privacy on balcony, can see in rooms either side. Poor breakfast with many items low in stock and not replenished (e.g fruit basket with one bruised apple, water and juices not filled up)

We were only there for 1 night but the young woman on check in & bar was lovely there was a large group of people came in she was only on herself but managed it all very professionally & just got on promptly with checking them all in with a smile too . Breakfast was continental which was fine . The room was basic but was fine for short stay,bed & pillows were very comfortable .

While the room was clean and suitably sized, the location was a bit difficult and there were some quirks. The bathroom garbage had not been emptied, the shower door was unable to close entirely leading to water getting all over the bathroom floor, and at one point our door was stuck closed from the interior so we were only able to get out when a housekeeper came by. This could have been very dangerous in a fire or other emergency.

The old adage of you get what you pay for applies here. Chur is a very expensive destination and the Ibis provided basic 3 star accommodation that was fine for a 2 night stay at a ‘reasonable’ price

Our only complaint is that we were 78 and 80 years old and we had to carry our bags up a full flight of stairs since the elevator only went up to the third floor.

The room had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The location is such that you need to use public bus to reach the old town. The hotel did however offer the Chur guest card giving free public transportation and entry to museums and the art gallery. This was much appreciated.

Stayed one night prior to taking the bernina Express. The location is a little odd, with MacDonalds co located in the same building and no clear entrance, but staff was very friendly and helpful and the stay comes with a local discount card providing bus and local train as well as discounts on local activities. Many restaurants in walking distance.
