We had a great stay at Novotel York. It is well located, clean throughout and the staff were brilliant - friendly and polite. The lobby/bar area was a lovely place to relax after a long day whilst the boys were kept busy in the kids area. Added bonus was the swimming pool!

Good location, plug in bath faulty. Don't accept bookings for breakfast at 10am when felt very much like it was a staff meeting!

The location of the hotel was really good and the parking was handy too. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful across all services. The beds were very comfortable however the room was somewhat cold. We tried to increase the thermostat but it didn't really warm up. The main disappointment was the breakfast as it really was limited for the cost and the quality of produce was not there. I would not hesitate to stay here again, but I wouldn't have breakfast.

Attempted check in at 12pm. Was told check in was 3pm - even though 3 other couples were checking in! Returned at 3.15pm told room not ready and they would check how long . Waited 10 mins to be told - we have a room ready. Had emailed before to ask for river view in a quiet room Room 107 was the worse room I’ve stayed in at this hotel - no river view just a view of the flood barrier . Carpet was covered in stains, windows were filthy on the inside, bath mat was dirty with black marks. Presume the room above had ‘laminate floor’ and sounded like someone was tap dancing. The air con on the room didn't switch off when off. Constant humming sound and cold air into the room. Executive room states Nespresso Machine and robes - didnt get either. Highly disappointed for £427
