I had a wonderful time staying at Mantra Hotel as its location is very convenient and close to town. The hotel has the necessities I need.

We stayed at Mantra Alice Springs on two occasions. The first was for three nights and the room was spacious and very clean. The room could be darkened and the window opened to cool the room. On the second occasion the room was sizable but had not been properly cleaned. There was a wrapper from soap or other toiletry stuck to the shower base, the toilet seat was cracked and there was a build up of grime and dirt between the toilet base and the wall. The shower base was also very worn and should be replaced as it was quite slippery. There was no other ventilation other than to open the front sliding door/window.

The room was clean, bar fridge was cold, the shower was good and beds comfortable. Set in a quiet location and just meters from shopping area.

Good central location. Room allocated to me (#1) felt like I was literally part of the reception area (conversation noise, foot traffic, front doors constantly opening) - suggest this gets looked at (eg better sound-proofing, or advice about this when booking so people are better informed). My request to move to a different room was accommodated.

Air con was leaking and made the room smell

Our stay began badly with an awful room allocated to us but after complaining the receptionist gave us a better room which we were happier with. On night two we had to call reception to complain about a group of noisy people playing loud music and partying, this was attended to eventually. Overall our stay was satisfactory.

I booked ahead to stay for two nights. The bed was pokey and the linen had stains on the edges as if a housekeeper had stood on the “tuck” and tried to cover it up. Room 410 is outdated and does not reflect previous experiences as well as expectations of ACCOR products. There is black mould in the bathroom and the TV, despite being fairly new, had great difficulty tethering a connection to either the wifi of the hotel or that of a hotspot from a personal device. The morning of check-out, an emergency alarm sounded for the best part of 10 minutes from approximately 6am. I attempted to phone reception from the room’s phone, which was unattached to the wall, to no avail. I tried again and again roughly five or six times. All guests onsite at the time were unable to cope with the constant beeping therefore made way to the inner balcony. There was not much relief there either. Many guests could be seen shaking their heads with disappointment. This wake-up call as it were seemed to confuse me for the remainder of the day. Worst of all due to the above incident I had forgotten my laptop charger in the room—I own a MacBook therefore this piece was an original, niche and attractive to anyone. I phoned the reception in the afternoon to see whether I could come and collect the charger and they put barriers in place. First, I was told with grunt to phone back in one hours (60 minutes) time, which I did. Then, I was asked to put together an email outlining my stay as well as insert pictures of my belongings. A follow-up phone call was made again to which I was informed there is a charger onsite that meets my description but the hosts were unable to confirm it was mine. I was furious. I study online through a registered training organisation in Queensland and require the device connection to fulfil my study commitments and this host has disrupted this in a significant way. I am unsure of what to do in response to this appalling ending and handling of my stay and herein most likely will not stay at this property as well as advise others on online platforms and by word of mouth the dissatisfying customer service, layout and appearance of this hotel.

Great place as far as location goes. Large rooms. Good laundry room. Parking not bad but not secure, and sometimes not enough - but lots of space just across road. Beyond that not much to recommend Had issues with Aircon, remote, tv and tv remote. Tv needed two updates before it would even work. Got it working but after an hour it switched itself off and on every minute or so. Batteries dead in both remotes. Signage is poor. We spent a lot of time directing people to elevator and rooms. Numbering is confusing. Map is ok but people struggled. Room was poorly vacuumed and not vacuumed again during full week long stay. . Set up for two people but only one chair. Bathroom- just one face washer. Everything else there was two but very basic. No side plates, no knives or forks or spoons. You could reheat food in communal space - but byo cutlery. One lift - which was filthy. Stairwells very unloved. Restaurant for breakfast/dinner will not charge back and was so underwhelming. Food was ok but needed good scrub out - top to bottom. Hotel very tired and staff are working in trying conditions

The room was so dirty that we left mid stay and stayed elsewhere. We removed this hotel from our university booking option.

Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. I was also appropriately recognised and welcomed as an ALL Platinum member, and the staff thanked me for my loyalty. My welcome amenities and welcome letter were already waiting in the room on arrival, which was appreciated. The room itself was nice, with a great view over the river, and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and presentation issues that let the room down. The split-system air-conditioning unit in the room did not work at all. There was no cooling or heating, and the unit would not properly turn on. It clearly appears to require repair or replacement. I did advise reception of this upon check-out. However, it also appears the property may already have been aware of the issue, as both a portable heater and a fan had been placed in the room prior to my arrival. Both were needed during my overnight stay, so their presence in the room was appreciated. The mini-fridge was also turned off at the wall when I arrived. After checking in, we placed food and drinks in the fridge and then went out for a couple of hours. When we returned, nothing had cooled down. We then discovered that the power point supplying the fridge had been switched off. This is something that should really be checked as part of the room preparation process before a guest checks in. There are also some very noticeable presentation and maintenance issues within the room. The carpet has clearly very visible stains immediately upon entry, along with other obvious signs of wear and tear. The balcony chairs in particular are well beyond simply showing their age, with the surface extensively peeling and deteriorating. I understand this is an older property and do not expect everything to be brand new. However, basic items such as functioning air-conditioning, an operating fridge, clean carpets and reasonably maintained furniture should be addressed, particularly now that the property is operating within the Accor network. I would have expected issues such as the stained carpeting to have been addressed before the property was brought into the network. Breakfast at Bella was delicious and the food itself was excellent. The staff were friendly, although service was a little inattentive. There were numerous empty tables that had not been cleared upon our arrival, particularly the double tables along the windows, despite the restaurant not being especially busy. At one point, a staff member was polishing/cleaning cutlery while five or more tables remained covered with used dishes. Several of these tables remained uncleared for more than an hour during the time we were there and were therefore unavailable to incoming guests. Overall, the friendly staff, comfortable bed, river view and excellent breakfast were definite positives, but the maintenance and room-preparation issues noticeably detracted from the stay. I hope this feedback is useful, as most of these are relatively straightforward issues that could make a significant difference to the guest experience.

The good: booking easy to do, good size room, comfortable bed, comfortable pillows, clean, great bathroom, great shampoo and liquid soap, quiet, private. The bad: had to wait for receptionist around 10 minutes (hotel understaffed?), the smoke from a person smoking in the outdoor area leaks inside the reception area, Parking inside is EXTREMELY limited (around 25 vehicles only) so had to leave it in the public parking outside, the lift is the smallest I have seen in my life (I don't think 2 large size people would fit), light switches in the room where all on the night table next to the bed so when you get in in the dark you would be lost (they should be close to the entrance, not in the middle of the room next to the bed), limited number of power points and were sort of hidden, and the aircon unit was old barely able to keep up (I felt thar it wasn't reaching the temperature desired 23°C).
