Average stay, bed in room 312 had bed mites. The main door to rooms jams and has not been fixed in over 4 months. Breakfast menu has declined in quality and ability to order from the egg bar was ignored on 3 separate occasions.

Hi Michelle Thank you for your review and comments and I was very concerned to read them. We have just had a pest control company come out and check room 312 but there is no sign of bed bugs / mites in the room or in the creases of the bed. I do apologise for the egg station for breakfast, and both the breakfast attendant and chef have been notified about this as it is a requirement and expectation. Hopefully we can welcome you back for a more positive experience in the New Year. regards Ian

Some of to worst customer service experience. Mercure should be embarrassed to have their name on this hotel. From check in to buffet breakfast staff - the were unprofessional, rude and unhelpful.

Pros: Good staff that were friendly and accommodating. Food was great albeit erring to the price-y side. Location is very convenient. Access to the cardio room was close to my room which was convenient. Bed sheets were regularly changed and towels too. Laundry being so close is a huge plus. Cons: First nights in the room there were small cockroaches roaming my bed. There was a big cockroach beside the dressers that was there for the first four weeks that I was in the room until finally I caught up to the daily clean on a Saturday and asked them to vacuum the floor. I've stayed in two other hotels in Alice previously for around the same lengths and never had trouble with pests until here. I witnessed a staff opening some assumingly unoccupied rooms, press some sprays from a can of insecticide and close the door, I'm not sure this is effective. Although the sheets were changed regularly, the pillowcases had yellowed before I left. I accidentally left a pen mark on one pillowcase on my second night and that was there throughout the whole stay of six weeks. Although I had a lot to say, I still had a relatively peaceful stay and everyone I approached was always willing to help.
