We stayed at the Mercure Alice Springs pre Covid and had a fantastic stay. Food and service were great. This time the service was the same but the food had definitely gone down hill!! Beds were also a bit hard for my liking. Position is great within close walking distance to town and lovely cafes.

I enjoyed the stay, the hotel was comfortable and clean, I enjoyed the restaurant and the food. Staff were friendly with the exception of the porter who helped with our luggage when we arrived on Thursday, 16/05/2024 at around 7:00pm. I am not sure if he was referred to as 'Charlie'. He assisted myself and my friends Alan Gardiner and Virginia Clarke. We went to my room first, I found him to be arrogant in his behaviour - I couldn't open the door with the swipe and he snatched the card out of my hand and swiped it open. I thought "Oh, you're a bit rude". I met Alan and Virginia for dinner shortly after and they told me that he went into their room and sat down after helping them with their luggage as if he was waiting for a tip, Virginia was actually using the bathroom all the while he was sitting there. They had to tell him basically that was it, thank you and he walked off grumbling and mumbling under his breath. We checked out on Saturday, 18/05/2024 at around 10:00am, 'Charlie' (if that is what his name is) was at the reception area at the time, we used the trolley to bring our luggage from our rooms. He rushed up to help and again, it seemed like he was waiting for a tip. Alan told him that we don't tip, and that he found his behaviour to be rude. 'Charlie was taken aback, he stepped away and said he wasn't looking for a tip. He didn't bother to continue assisting Alan with the luggage into the car, not that it was expected, but we thought if he wasn't looking for a tip, you would expect he would continue to assist Alan who is almost 70 years old with the luggage.

Hi Patricia I'm sorry about your experience. We don't have a Charlie that works here, or a name that sounds similar. We certainly don't condone sitting in a guest room, or expecting a tip. I will investigate this a little further to see who was working over that time. I'm glad that you generally enjoyed your stay with us though. regards Ian

After road conditions had closed some roads I rang to change the dates of this booking and were told they would ring me back. If it was possible. I never heard back. I have recommended this hotel to people and my work uses as well and it will be the last time I ever stay here.

We stay for 3 days. After they remake the room. Not provide new towels. After calling to reception so many times, unfortunately no one pick up the phone. Moreover, when we about to get coffee from the restaurant. Turn out coffee machine was broken. 😞

Dear Thanchanok I apologise that we didn't live up to expectations on this occasion. I have passed your comments onto the Housekeeping Manager to be addressed with his team. The coffee machine in the restaurant wasn't broken, depending on the amount of use it has each morning it needs to be refilled and cleaned. This only takes a couple of minutes, again my apologies that it coincided with you wanting a coffee. We hope that you travel safely. regards Ian

Short staying but full of happiness

Long N. Friends - Confirmed reviews ALL

We were staying only two nights but absolutely happy. We checked in in just few minutes with clear instructions of room and facilities in the resort. We were excited with the foods and services in the restaurant even in the outback and decided to have both dinners in the hotel. In the last day we check out early morning at which the restauratn still not open. Anyway, the reception and kitchen has arranged breakfast packs for all of us. We thank you all for your taking care of us well during our satying at the hotel.
