I am a regular visitor to Mecure Alice Springs and what you get at this hotel can really vary from time to time. Check-in on this visit was fantastic with a warm welcome and acknowledgment of status and loyalty to the hotel and Accor. I’m a big believer in booking the room you want and not hoping for an upgrade, rather just accept the pleasant surprise if you get it. Usually I book the Deluxe balcony room, however this time I opted for the Superior room hoping for the ground floor. Got an upgrade anyway, and ran with it, despite not wanting the upstairs floors on this trip (heavily pregnant partner). Would never complain about an upgrade regardless! Waiting in my room was a lovely hand written note, two bottles of water and the accor slices in box - A pleasant surprise as typically this hotel neglects to provide the welcome amenity. The room is comfortable, albeit very dated. Much the accepted normal for accommodation in central Australia and the NT in general. Special mention for the shower though, which depending on what room you are in has the most amazing water pressure ever 👌😂 If you are after a quiet night sleep, you might opt for another hotel, as the social issues in Alice Springs lead to a lot of hooning outside the hotel through all hours of the night, right in to the early morning and often yelling and fighting from the adjacent river bed. Restaurant service let’s this location down regularly. The staff seem mostly lacking in training and as guests we are often met with uncomfortable language barriers, leading to more often than not orders being incorrect. This stay was no exception. The meals themselves are normally of a good to great standard and more than adequate portion sizes when sent out correctly. Always and extremely long wait for drinks which is mindblowing considering how quiet the restaurant usually is when we attend - Once again we had to remind the waitstaff of our drinks order after about 15 minutes. Breakfast is below par for anything in the Accor brand and could and should use a massive overhaul. Lacks any quality, is poorly presented and not easily accessible. But once again, there are not too many options in central Australia. One of the biggest issues I regularly face with Mecure Alice Springs Resort is a failure to correctly issue reward and status points. More often than not I am left having to call Accor to get my points credited. I brought this up upon checkout and the manager was brilliant, ensuring that my points were manually added including all meals and charges from the gift shop. You would hope that you didn’t have to bring this up every time, but I can’t fault the effort in getting it done instantly this time around. (Points immediately showed in the app). All in all, one of my better visits to this location. It falls below what you would get in a more populated area, but in keeping with Alice Springs standards (a bit more expensive than the bigger cities) the cost of the room and meals probably fits what you get.

I’m a Platinum member but they didn’t recognise my membership, no welcome drink, no welcome amenity in the room and no room upgrade. Also as platinum member I can have complimentary breakfast but lady at the reception was asking me to pay for the breakfast.

Dear Mubashir I do apologise that your membership status wasn't recognised on your recent stay, nothing came through with your booking indicating your status level. Can I ask that you check with CWT that they have your membership number and status and this is sent through with future bookings, so no other hotel is rated 10/100 for something that may not necessarily be the fault of the hotel. We can only go by the information we have with the booking. Once again I do apologise for any oversight. regards Ian
