We stayed 4 days at Novotel. Superb location facing Danube and Parliament House; large rooms, very comfortable beds with extra fluffy pillows, complimentary drinks placed daily in executive rooms. But very miserly with tea bags placed in rooms! Couldn't understand why as hot chocolate sachets, coffee & green tea sachets provided but we wanted English breakfast tea and at first house keeping staff wanted payment for 2 tea bags!!! When we again requested and said they could take back the other sachets and give us extra black tea bags, they reluctantly provided it. House keeping staff needs better training.

Originally our river cruise ship was due to dock near the Novotel, hence choosing it. But due to water levels the ship docked much further south. Anyway, the hotel location was great for us as we wanted to visit Margaret’s island in the late evening. The view of the parliament building was great, albeit we had to pay a lot extra for that. The worst thing was the room itself- the decor was old and the curtains were so bad that the light came into the room very early in the morning. Also, breakfast was way too expensive.

Good location, beautiful lobby & restaurant

It was OK, but service is not as friendly as I have come to expect from Accor hotels in Budapest; the lobby & restaurant have been beautifully refurbished, but the rooms are outdated & tired, more like student dormitory rooms.

The room, the reception and the localization is great. But the Gym is awful. And the service at the restaurant is the worst in town.

The hotel is very conveniently located with a great view of the Parliament house at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Richard (the supervisor in the Restaurant). Breakfast was often busy and so we could not get the table we wanted but food was plentiful and fresh.
