There’s Nothing special to Mercure Hotel City Berlin. A clean and very boring business hotel nearby Berling Central Station. Circa 2 km towards Unter den Linden & Brandeburger Tor. So the location is great. preset expensive but that goes for all Berlin city center hotels.

- I booked the room for 2, but in the 1st day when we checked in, they arranged only 1 pillow + 1 blanket for 1 guest. Once we called to the reception and politely asked for one more blanket, they instead of bringing it to our room, they told us have to go down to pick it at the reception. I had to do that. - That night, right when I showered, I realized that they also prepared only 1 bath towel set and my partner had used it. I was already in the shower room, and I didn't call to the reception to ask for one more towel set, because it would be very inconvenient for me at that time if they again required me must go down to the reception to pick it, as same as they did with the blanket. I had been suffered to use the same towel with my partner that it got wet after his using. - The next day, when we were about to go out, I allowed the maids get into my room to clean it few minutes before we left... It meant they saw that we both have been staying there, but they again provided only one set of towel in shower room for only one person uses. In addition, I left them a power card and I placed 2 pairs of my shoes very tidy & neat, but when I came back, they took my power card away from the switch divide & my shoes were messed. That showed they actually had cleaned my room with the vacuum & I appreciated for that, but I don't understand what's wrong with the standard procedures of housekeeping training. - When I called to the reception to ask (again) for one more towel set and the power card, I also complained dissatisfiedly to him about the trouble that had occurred, the receptionist soon brought towel & power card to my room with a coupon of drinks as an apology for all had happened. I appreciated the way how they handle the trouble. - The key card was often error when opening the door. I stay 2 nights but had to go 3 times to the reception to reset it. What an annoying. One receptionist explained us that if we place the keycard with other credit cards or driving license card with chip, that will make the keycard error. (I'm a low-tech person but I never ever heard about this, also I did that with many hotel keycards in my life, it never happen like that). - I was surprised that there's no mini fridge in 4 star hotel room. Compliment: - The hotel is clean, bright in convenient location. - The receptionists are very friendly & fast reaction. - The bar served great cocktails & wine.

This was a perfect experience from the moment we arrived and checked in. The reception staff were always very helpful, as were the restaurant staff. The rooms had everything we needed. They were well-lit and quiet.

Walking distance to most attractions, if not, a tram right out front

We had a pleasant stay, nothing outstanding. Hotel was about 1km the central train station we arrived at if we’d know (done some research) we could have caught the tram right to the front of the hotel, just 2 stops. The underground trains are also very close by. EURO24 was on while we were there and the hotel bar had themed dishes based on teams. It was a fun idea.

No issues really. Were given single beds instead of a double and the aircon could be better but overall enjoyed the stay and would stay again. Good transport links nearby.
