We tried to enjoy the lounge on our check-in day, but it seemed apparent that stopping in to have a cup of coffee and a nibble was not possible. We weren't hungry enough for a full buffet, and there was no other offerings to sit and relax. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely.

When booking online there is no mention of the extensive renovations and low service levels being provided, really poor experience. Also room booked wasn't the one provided.

Renovations - I was not pre informed at time of booking

The hotel is in a great location, but to be completely transparent, this property should not currently be open for paying customers. The renovations will be a welcome enhancement, but I don't wish to stay in a hotel under such heavy renovation. No open restaurants, no bar, no formal lobby or taxi rank at entrance...the list goes on. Ordering room service the waiter didn't even bring my food tray into my room and instead handed me the tray out in the lobby. It reminded me of a covid hotel. When I checked in I was informed I had been granted a complimentary room upgrade.... from what, the broom cupboard? The room was sub-par. I was not informed of the renovations and the curtailed service levels at time I made my booking...had I known, clearly, I would not have stayed. The property needs to be closed until the renovations are completed. Extremely disappointing overall.

I like the location of the hotel and the staff are pleasant but the disruption to services and lack of consistency while they are refurbishing the hotel are getting to me. No bar or restaurant for evening meals and drinks being my main complaint.
