Poor quality. Fish was very smelly. Did inform the waitress to be told it was fresh !!! The smell was all over the restaurant. So far have not been sick.

Good stay, comfortable room.

Park around the hotel is great to walk the dog and feels a safe place. It was an unplanned stay but we enjoyed it. Rooms were very spacious, comfortable, well maintained and very quiet which was perfect.

Would not return to this hotel and probably would not book another mercure hotel.

Phill S TripAdvisor review

Several things let this hotel down and spoilt our stay. On arrival we were charged a caution against our card which was 150% of the cost of the whole stay. We were given a voucher for a free drink, yes one free drink, what do you do sit and watch your partner drink their free drink, come on Mercure if you are going to give out free drinks make it for each adult guest in a room. The waiting staff, well the dress code was not what you would expect from a 4* hotel, jeans , white shirt and trainers! Come on we are not snobs but it would be nice to be able to tell the difference between the staff and a guest. The barman first night split both drinks when placing them on the table, we had to ask for a serviette to dry the table and glasses. The restaurant food and wine very over priced a bottle of Sauvignon 36 euros as it was poured it was split (same barman) the barman then noticed a piece of cork in the glass which was poured for tasting so he took the glass away, the glass was about 1/4 full, a new clean empty glass was then brought to the table and the wine poured, Come on mercure standard practice is “sorry sir, removal of glass and bottle and new bottle and glass brought to table” The rooms were fine laid out well the shower was a very good size, there was a problem with our bed , it appears that the beds raise to waist height for the maids to make them, ours wouldn’t go down one of the days we were there, we returned to the maid trying to get the bed to go down and lock into place, we tried to help her but the maintenance man had to be sent for so we went down to the bar to have a drink and keep out of the way for a bit , on out return the maid was still in the hallway and she apologised for the problem and said the bed was fixed, which it was. If we were to praise the hotel for anything it would be the maid, she was excellent our room was always spotless , she was always polite and the apology from her for the bed was more than what we got from the reception staff who must have been aware of the issue. There was another problem with our room which maybe would not affect everyone but the conduit for the air conditioner in the downstairs bar area went through the room near the bed and one of our party had to buy earplugs because of the noise. In all this hotel was a disappointment to us and has put us off booking another mercure hotel.

Short relax stay. Positive aspects: pretty good breakfast, balcony, good quality bedding, the spa - not to big, but it is certainly a plus. Less satisfying aspects: no upgrade offered for Gold members, or other alternative bonuses. No late check out possible. The so called welcome drink - only one per room, a policy that is not common to all Accor hotels (see, for ex, Novotel Mestre Venetia, or Mercure Piazza Bologna Rome, where upgrade was offered without demanding and where drinks for all those staying in the room is also complimentary). This is such a low level so called hospitality proof- imagine the other person looking at you enjoying your welcome drink and eventually being forced to buy something at the bar! This is a no, thank you.
