This hotel is in an excellent, central location. It's very near the Christmas markets (so they jack their prices up during this period). Everything is very clean and in good shape, and service was friendly. The rooms are more functional than charming, but we were comfortable. The thing none of us liked was the bathrooms! In standard rooms there is glass so you can see into the shower (and even see the toilet). Not sure why anyone would design that! My parents (in their 70s) had a superior room. There the bathroom does have more privacy but there was no walk-in shower, only a very high bath with shower attachment. They managed it ok but neither liked climbing in and out of it. Breakfast was very good, and there's a nice little wine bar (Legs 11)

A great hotel very close to the the mainline station, Köln HBF, and the cathedral. We had three nights here for the Christmas markets, which are almost on the doorstep. The rooms are more compact than small. The shower was powerful, the bed lovely with a choice of pillows, and the room warm and quiet. Breakfast had a good choice of cold meats, a hot breakfast and cereals, fruits and cakes.

We spent two nights / three days in Cologne with friends visiting the Christmas markets and we all had a wonderful festive time. We highly recommend the hotel which was modern, clean and well appointed and is ideally located within a five minute walk of three excellent Christmas markets and the Cathedral. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where we enjoyed a lunch and breakfast as well as a bar where we had a nightcap each evening and received excellent service from the mixologist who concocted a great espresso martini… We also enjoyed a short cruise trip down the Rhine whilst we were there with wonderful live Christmas tunes being played whilst sampling some tasty mulled wine. We wouldn’t hesitate to book the Mondial Hotel when we visits the Christmas markets again…..

Exceptionally good stay. Rooms are small and lack accessible storage but comfortable and functional. Legs eleven bar is great with a good atmosphere and drinks package. Friendly and approachable staff.
