Jeremy on the front desk deserves a mention. He was super friendly and helpful at all times. Overall the staff and the nice restaurant were the best things about it. The room itself felt a bit dated, the telephone didn’t work and the lighting was quite gloomy and not easy to control.

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Pillows leave a lot to be desired and having asked housekeeping there actually was no choice. Also, I would like to say that overall not a patch on other hotels of the chain, Novotel in other locations. For example, I found it extraordinary that the welcome drink is 1 per room with little or no choice and not 1 drink per guest in the room. It was the 1st time I encountered this; also for example, asking for a tea bag for the room to no avail. ordering a tea at the cost of 3,50 Euros which I went to get myself from the bar as there was a charge of 5 Euros to bring it to the room. To say the least at the cost of the rooms, all this is more than stingy and inadequate. Having mentioned it to the staff I was then told your hotel is a franchise. Well that explained it all and I will ensure that I don't book a franchised hotel again. On a positive note, every member of staff was brilliant, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and I feel sorry for them to have to put up with complaints on a daily basis for trivial things. I forgot to say that 2 coffees, 2 tea bags, 2 sugars and a kettle is inadequate and NO milk!!! Very mean indeed. Again every other hotel of the chain I stayed in actually had a coffee machine and adequately stocked.

Novotel Nice Centre Vieux is a good choice, although a little dated in places. Nice lobby area, friendly staff. Parking is in the building opposite, but beware: the instructions given from the hotel are absolute rubbish. Two things you need to know when parking; follow the given instructions to the 2nd floor, then at the end of the parking area, take a LEFT. This is where the Novotel sign is confusingly on the right. Turning left will only get you to the exit and you'll have to retrace your route. Also, for those unfamiliar with France, the walking exit is the emergency exit.

Structure quite old, bad insonorization, the air conditioner was keeping expelling air even if turned off, the toilet flush was keep recharging water every minute as there was a leak. On the positive side, the staff was super friendly and the restaurant is very good, nice food and fair price.
