The hotel is in an almost ideal location (if you do not want to splash out on a room in one of the flash Beach-side properties, that is), a stone's throw from the main shopping Street, close to a tram stop and within waking distance of the beach. It central yet astonishingly quiet anyway. A rooftop pool in the middle of the city with great views over the mountains and the rooftops is an added bonus. The breakfast was not sensational, but more than ok. There is room for improvement, though - the rooms are small and and in need of some TLC and the straff is at best uninterested, sometimes almost rude. One of the breakfast straff made a jabot of carrying people's Food away from some kind of VIP-area, with confused guests having to chase after the Food. The look of the extremely bored and un co-operative teenager in the reception when we asked if we could keep the room two extra hours was also priceless. It all had a touch of a famous 70's British sitcom to it.

Good service made my stay but not the room

We reserved at this hotel for its pool and the room with a balcony looks appealing on the website. It is somewhat to our dismay to find the room a bit small to our taste & somewhat outdated as far as the interior is concern. Infact, the balcony is the only advantage of our accomodation. Had we known this, we'd have reserved the Priviledge room which is more tastefully decorated and more to our liking. Being able to dip in the pool was a plus. Without holding the hotel accountable, it is regretable that no AccorHotels Staff Late Check Out price is available.

Good pool and near the station

Positives: Easy to reach from the train station; near a tramway; not too far from the sea or restaurants; fairly good choice for breakfast; comfortable bed; large size TV; pleasant pool area with a good view and roof bar; very quiet air conditioning Negatives: our Privilege room was smaller than normal rooms I saw; paper cups for water and hot drinks; cups not replaced; had to request more coffee and sugar from reception; bottle of water not given each day; very cheap uncomfortable mattress protector; no restaurant - the sky bar does some food but in a bar setting; the breakfast room is like a café because it does not serve as a restaurant as well; generally other Mercures have been better

Disappointing became we could not use any of the amenities pool, gym as I had been told on the phone that we could. That there was a limit to the numbers but that we just had to book at reception. When we got there we were told it was all closed.

We are cousin of the Grimaldi and had been invited to a family party in Monaco, but this was cancelled because of Covid. So we decided to stay in Nice and chose the Mercure because it was central.

+ very cool rooftop pool and bar, + nice and helpful staff, + room size was okay, + very high cleanliness standard, + good and silent AC, - very tough covid security standards which is okay, but no one explained them, which is not, - not even a single bottle of water in room, - there was a kettle, but no cups, no coffee, no tea, - very basic toiletries - only shower gel and soap bar, - rooftop bar on friday evening was busy and a reservation was needed even for hotel guests - no one told us about that, - wifi broke on Sunday morning and wasn't fixed till Monday 4 PM, - no welcome gift for ALL Gold members.

Disappointing stay

We had a twin room and to be honest it was really small with rock hard beds and poor Air Con. No water in the room but there was a fridge. The breakfast was 15€ and just wasn’t worth it. The choice was not good. The pool area is very small with limited seating if the beds are taken you couldn’t get close. I wouldn’t stay again there are better hotels in Nice at a similar price.

We did pre check in and it asked what time we arrived, we put 9am, after having been up since 3.30am. We arrived to drop off our bags and were told a stern 2pm. We arrived back at 1.30pm, pre checked again be be told 2pm. We finally got our room at 3.20pm. Nothing about breakfast being available. Nothing about the pool area. No info given at all. Evening gentle man on evening of 10th very good. He agreed we could check out at 1pm instead of 12.. however didnt tell us our key would fail after 12, so a walk back was necessary. Another gentlemen in reception at around 3pm on 11th VERY helpful.

Well located but too noisy

The hotel is well located (thought the Station district sometimes looks a bit unsafe) but the rooms are quite old-looking and especially noisy. I could basically hear everything our neighbor said, music, intimate moments... we basically left before the last night to make sure we could sleep.

Already knew the hotel, stay was pleasant. Sanitary protocole so far is good few remarks concerning use of mask inside the hotel in general (guests and very few employes). Being a medium stay (7 days) an special attention to check room amenities before as gel was almost empty, also special attention to frigo cleaning.

Very good hotel located steps away of the main pedestrian street and commercial avenue. Got a privilege room which was nice but somehow giving the feeling to be smaller as other room we could see during the cleaning time on the same floor. As Accor member, we are asked to complete a profile which for me the room location says near the elevator.. I got the very last room away from the elevator 😋. Breakfast was chaotic for the 2 days I stayed due to the room partly closed and not accessible for guest. I like to enjoy my breakfast quietly and not necessarily forced to be squeezed between other guests. Buffet was missing some items. No more pancake at 09.00 when the breakfast last until 11.00

Fantastic location of hotel - out the front door and onto the main street for some XMAS shopping! Lots of shops and restaurants - and a nice brisk walk of 15minutes to the beach - or just jump onto the tram

Blocked bank card

On arrival my bank card was blocked for 5 working days by the hotel; however the total hotel cost was prepaid. Coffee was not replaced and no shower cap was provided during the entire stay. The terrace was awesome!
