Travelled for work, the room I was allocated the carpets were heavily stained to the point where I felt the room should not have been used. The staff on the desk initially said I couldn’t move rooms but they would clean it. On return the carpet was in the same state. After a second complaint the manger moved me. This is not a reflection on house keeping, beds and the linen were immaculate. The carpets were filthy and needed to be replaced or shampooed. I have photos and I can email them if required

When we checked-in into the room, there was no soap and shampoo at all; the bottles were empty. How is that possible that the hotel is preparing the room for new guests and doesn't check the soap level or simply doesn't bring the new bottles? Regular refilling doesn't happen here as well, I was forced to call reception or ask cleaning personnel in order to get a shampoo refill (and I didn't get it despite the promises). Cleaning quality is average. The bathroom is dirty, the carpets have hair and red stains of unknown origin — looks like nobody is using vacuum cleaners there. Closets are inefficient, lacking shelves and hangers. Soundproofing is a disaster, especially in connected rooms. You can hear TV, people speaking clearly, or using the bathroom in the next room. On the 13th level of the hotel, there's a restaurant that hosts parties from time to time, and their bass-boosted music is literally making the whole building shake at 22:00-23:00. On my complaint about pretty late time for loud music in a hotel I was told that 'restaurant is not a part of the hotel, we can't change anything', which as for me is unacceptable in the hotel, where people come to rest — it's not a party-oriented beach resort, but a upper-middle city hotel. This hotel is not deserving the Mercure title and deeply affects the reputation of the brand.

At checkin the person at the counter said they will be sending a cake in the room as i was a member but even after 04 reminders during my stay it never came and when I mentioned it to the staff at checkout they were least bothered and the attitude and gestures made me even more humiliated I never asked for any favour It was offered from your side and when i reminded i was made to sound as if i was begging for a favour

Service at Restaurant was the best ! The rest disappointing for a Mercure hotel. When we checked in there were no key cards available. The bathroom is old lots of broken things. WiFi was horrible ! Fridge didn’t work. Upon checkout I talked the night before with reception to get late check out as silver member, they said ok. Next day I was asked several times what time I leave the hotel. I had the feeling they wanted to kick me out. The price is Not worth! Nice view but that’s all. Another negative thing… I went to the bar on the last floor and they said they have nothing to do with the hotel. I just wanted to have a view during day time! So I would not recommend this hotel !

On weekends (starting from Friday) there is a loud music in the restaurant on 13 flour. The sound and vibration are so loud, so it’s impossible to sleep even on the 5 flour where I staid. And it’s till 1-2 a.m. It’s very annoying and unsatisfying for those who come in business and just want to rest

Great hotel in a quiet area but walkable to town. Upgraded to a wonderful junior suite. Only very minor issue would be some light switches and air con controls hidden behind sliding doors.

The staff made our memories unforgettable. My kids and wife ask me when we can come back. We had small issues during our stay, but thx to amazing staff we solved everything and our stay was amazing. Most probably our best stay across all Accor hotels.

I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with our recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by numerous issues that made our stay extremely uncomfortable. Hygiene was a major concern. The toilet was used and left unflushed, with urine on the seat and floor, before our check-in. The carpet and sofa had noticeable stains. The leaking shower was a major inconvenience. The room's comfort was also lacking. The bed was ridiculously short, with half of my leg hanging outside when sleeping. It was my first time experiencing this, and I'm shocked that a hotel like Mercure would use beds meant for children. The door opening directly to the elevator exposed the entire room, compromising our privacy. The noise levels were unacceptable, and the constant electricity humming sound was disturbing. The staff's behavior was the most concerning. They assumed we were Pakistanis and made comments implying that we raised the hygiene issues because of our supposed nationality, suggesting we were prone to making such complaints. We understood the comments, and I'd like to clarify that we are not Pakistanis. Regardless, such stereotyping is unacceptable and unprofessional. We also observed a room next to us being rented to a suspicious group for only a few hours, with loud voices. This raises serious concerns about the hotel's practices and makes it unsuitable for families. I hope you address these issues promptly and take necessary actions regarding the staff's behavior.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mercure Baku City with a group of friends and colleagues, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful experience. Despite an unfortunate situation, the hotel team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. We were especially grateful for the gestures provided and for arranging a meeting space for us to work, which was extremely helpful for our group. A special thanks to the General Manager, Elchin, for his kindness and professionalism, and to the Front Office Manager, Gurshad and his whole team, who was incredibly accommodating and supportive throughout our stay. Their genuine care, flexibility, and dedication to guest satisfaction turned what could have been a stressful situation into a memorable and pleasant experience. We truly appreciate the hospitality and would gladly recommend Mercure Baku City to anyone visiting Baku.
