The reception staff is very rude and not at all friendly first upon check-in. They were not at all helpful. I asked the lady at the reception upon check-in to help me order food from delivery app. She denied saying that we cannot order food for our guests before Novotel, I was staying in four points by Sheraton guanzhou and every day the staff helped me order food and helped me in all other things, but this was the property where I got no help, and I was denied everything. Then upon checking when I asked them, if the concierge can help me, they said the front office girls that the concierge guy has already done overtime his duty is over and he cannot help. Next day morning, I asked for shampoo at the reception to handover to me down that also was denied to me and said that they can only send it in the room after 15 minutes. I told them that they can handed over to me in the reception, but I am in a hurry, but the lady denied. I had previously emailed them that we are three people in one room to a lot a good room. Still, they had allotted me a very congested room with three beds where we could not even move around even after taking extra money from me. I also told them on the check-in counter, but they were not at all helpful, even though the hotel is made really well, the Reception staff ruined the whole stay. Extremely Disappointed being a silver member.

Locating the bus transfer was impossible with no signs. I went to the bus transfer area no signs and looked around the arrivals car park and roads no signs. I then proceeded to walk thru a closed off area creating great danger to myself as signs just didn’t exist with direction to the hotel. I had to climb over fences and cross very busy roads with my luggage. It is absolutely terrible considering it is an airport hotel! This confusion creates opportunity for taxis to swarm to take advantage of vulnerability and confusion. It’s a known problem with taxis as I had them follow me. You need to get this sorted as it was very very stressful.

Nice room, comfortable bed and pillows. Nice meal for dinner.. Now the bad part. I had breakfast, all the ingredients for an English breakfast at the buffet were cold. ie. Bacon, bake beans, potato, eggs, sausages. Not even Luke warm. Very disappointed.

My experience of stay at Novetel was great in general. The shuttle bus is on time and drivers are always very helpful. The only drawback was one incident that on the way to the hotel, the driver opened the driver side window and spitted on the street. It was gross!
