Great Location! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Negative stars as I had to wipe down countertops. The toilet flush was missing a cover ring, and the buttons were dirty. The room carpet was torn. The carpet outside the room was stained and dirty.

I understand that the Mantra branding was only applied to this hotel in July and it’s fair to say it’s not quite at the normal standard you would expect from a Mantra brand hotel. The rooms (we stayed in two) are very tired and could do with serious modernisation. Neither room had an extractor fan in the bathroom, or sufficient power points for modern appliance charging. The large apartment we were moved to mid stay didn’t have any power points beside the bed which was very inconvenient for phone charging and alarms. There are no microwaves in the normal rooms - there’s a “microwave room” upstairs off reception for guest use which is something we had never seen. The swimming pool is not heated, is quite small and gets very little sun, we found it to be completely unusable due to the cold temperature of the water. We dipped our feet in and it was so cold it was painful. We did not observe any guests using the pool during our entire six night stay. Secure parking is limited and difficult to get into, the carpark across the road is open air but much easier to use. For the money, it’s an ok stay but very basic and it could benefit from a deep clean. The stairs were filthy and the same bottle of orange juice was in the stairwell our entire stay. The rooms also could benefit from a deep clean. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the location is close to town with the walk through the carpark to the Todd Mall was very useful. The rubberised flooring on the balcony’s and walkways is something I haven’t seen before and was impressed by, the noise suppression was fantastic - no hearing other people’s bags wheeling around or noisy footsteps. All in all, the staff and location were great but due to the other issues I personally wouldn’t choose to stay here again - I would spend a little more on somewhere more updated and with a usable pool - but if you are budget conscious, not looking to spend much time in the rooms and don’t want to have a swim during your visit then it may work better for you.

Very disappointing stay. The allocated queen room was in poor condition. The door which opened onto a covered area could not be left open because of the unpleasant smell. There was no ventilation to the bathroom, the shower base had worn away and was badly stained. The carpet in the room was badly worn and frayed and the room smelt musty and stale. In its current condition this room should not be available use. We asked reception if there was an alternative room available and were happy to pay the difference. We shown to king rooms at the front of the hotel. The first one had a broken air conditioner. The second we took also had a broken air conditioner. Further, there was rubbish and broken toys in the stairwell to the carpark which was there at on both nights of our stay, a week apart, And the rug in reception area is dirty and the chairs have arm rest that are shiny with wear.

Mouldy bathroom, shower head looks like it has never been cleaned and the bed isn't uncomfortable it just feels weird. Love the location and the food at Bella’s was good. Also would nice not to have maintenance having a loud lengthy conversation at 7 in the morning.

Although the bed was clean, it sagged and was very uncomfortable. The walls and ceilings were freshly painted but the paint of the skirting boards and door frames in the hotel room were badly chipped. Did the tradesmen run out of paint? The lift and the common areas outside the room were scruffy and down-at-heel. However, the hotel is well located, and the staff were pleasant.

Please inspect room 211 and explain to me how you justify advertising your rooms as having "modern ensuites". The air-conditioning unit did not cool the room below 23 degrees and was noisy and randomly spitting water out. But the icing on the cake was one of your staff members banging on the door at 7. 45 am, waking me up after one of the worst sleeps I've ever had whilst travelling for work. When I begrudgingly answered the door, they apologised and said they thought the room was empty and walked off, not explaining what they wanted.
