A. Incorrect Room Type (Material Misrepresentation) — booked and paid for a king bed, but I was placed in a room with two twin beds (they are not double-beds…. I measured) pushed together, which is not equivalent to a king bed. Not the USA standard. Slept the most uncomfortable vacation, ever. Not 5-stars. 2. Failure to Provide Advertised “Priority Welcome” — The hotel advertises a “priority welcome” for arriving guests. I did not receive anything resembling priority. A man was checked in and treated after I arrived. I receive no luggage assistance. I pushed my own bags from my car, to my room, myself. I was greeted with an inappropriate comment (“Where is your husband?” , “Why are you alone?”) When I requested early check-in due to needing the restroom ASAP (I was on 12 hour flight from Chicago to Crete) …. And I was told to sit in the lobby and directed to the public bathroom instead to “calm down.” Staff behavior was unprofessional throughout the stay, including a front desk agent refusing to bring hand towels because he was waiting for his personal food delivery to get there first. After he received his order, I was not given hand towels, but a bathrobe and 2 chocolates. These are the opposite of a “priority welcome” and do not match the services advertised. This is odd behavior. Not 5-stars anywhere. 3. Services Not Provided / Operational Failures — Parking garage malfunctioned three separate times, delaying my travel plans by over three hours. The following day, I had to delay my schedule until 10:00 AM because I could not exit the garage until the cashier booth opened. — Breakfast service was disorganized one day. The ticket printer broke, and I waited over 20 minutes while guests who arrived after me were served. All I wanted was 1 latte. Definitely not 5-star service.

Regarding the room type, the Classic room you booked is equipped with twin beds, as indicated in our room descriptions. We noticed that on your booking, the bed type was listed as “king size,” which does not correspond to this category, and we have corrected this description to prevent future misunderstandings. When we checked in with you the following day, you did not mention any issue with the beds, otherwise we would have gladly arranged a room change depending on availability. Concerning the check-in, we believe there was a misunderstanding, possibly due to the long travel and fatigue from your journey. You were the last arrival of the evening, and the previous guest had checked in approximately two hours earlier, so no priority was given to another guest. During check-out, you mentioned to our morning front desk agent that you had gained a better understanding of the situation, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We sincerely apologize for the delay with the towels and the food delivery during your arrival — this was a mistake and does not reflect our usual standards. Regarding the breakfast service, we are sorry that you experienced a delay. That day coincided with a particularly busy time with many families, but our Maitre Stelios, for whom you left such positive comments , did his best to assist you, as he always does, ensuring guests receive attentive service. As for parking, detailed instructions were provided both verbally and in writing. Unfortunately, the delay you experienced was caused by not informing the parking attendant that you were a guest of our hotel, which is a required step in the process. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Finally, we feel compelled to respond to your comments suggesting discrimination. We are deeply offended by this assertion, as it does not reflect our values or the experiences of the vast majority of our guests. Our team prides itself on providing respectful, professional, and equal treatment to all guests, regardless of gender, background, or any other personal characteristic. We have consistently received positive feedback for our professionalism, and any suggestion otherwise is both hurtful and inaccurate. We sincerely regret that your stay included these frustrations and hope that despite the issues you experienced, you were able to enjoy parts of your visit to Heraklion. We truly value all feedback and will continue to improve wherever possible to ensure our guests receive the high standard of service we strive for.
