Overall a nice experience, however stay started a bit “rough” not being able to check in on time. Also the rudness of the Front Office Manager on duty was way off the standards of a Movenpick Hotel. Really dissapointed in that.

Thank you for a wonderful 4th holiday at the BalaLand Hotel and Family Park! We are very happy return guests with two four-year old twin boys. The management and hotel staff will do everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This is in my opinion the best high-end family hotel in Hungary, and we have tried them all. :-) It is quiet and peaceful even at peak holidays (Christmas, Easter), in contrast to many other child-friendly hotels where it's impossible to sleep due to noise from other rooms. The food is top notch at dinner with a different International theme every night. Choose the Deluxe Suite if you are looking for space, it has two fully separated bedrooms and a convenient kitchenette with a microwave. We adore the facilities at the hotel - the kids absolutely cannot get enough of the waterslides and the indoor area with all the climbing is a great favorite. All this and beautiful Lake Balaton right outside your doorstep - What more could you ask for?

I am a business traveler who stays about 100 nights a year in Europe. So I can objectively evaluate the level of 3-5 star hotels in Europe. I stayed at this hotel with my family for 4 nights. The hotel is very clean. It is not more than 2 years old, so it is bound to be clean. Considering the cost of living in Hungary, the value for money is poor. The meals at this hotel are not 5 star, but 4 star. I was particularly impressed by the fact that 3 out of 4 nights of dinner were served with the same menu with only a few changes in sauce. Although it is a kid-friendly hotel, the only food that kids can eat is spaghetti, frozen fried fish sticks, and frozen hash browns. The rest is meringue cookies, cakes, and ice cream. Compared to peak season, there are less than half the number of guests, so the restaurant staff will not be as busy as usual. However, the cups for orange juice at breakfast are not filled, and many guests experience drinking orange juice in coffee cups. There were two days when only melon was provided as fruit, and the rest of the days, a little pineapple and a little persimmon were provided. And canned pears were provided. I think the hotel forgot to order other fruits. Also, the swimming pool and the children's indoor park are in a separate building outside the hotel. In the cold winter, the wind blows very strong on Lake Balaton, and to get to the separate building, you have to walk outside the hotel in the cold wind. I don't understand why they didn't connect the two buildings with an indoor passage. I think it's appropriate to stay at this hotel for two nights. Any longer and you'll get bored and the food will be unsatisfactory. The hotel needs to review its pricing policy from a marketing perspective.
