Our 3rd stay, a nice touch, a knock on our door and the really pleasant smiling lady who also checked us in, gave us a bottle of sparking wine, choccies and two glasses, wishing us a happy anniversary. Always enjoy our stays there, one of many to come. Staff so pleasant, nothing is a problem. Bed so comfy, room very clean, views are amazing. It's a great Novotel at Devonport, we will be back very soon. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so pleasant and relaxing. Even the cleaning staff had smiles and nothing was a trouble. We had a work event there so the group were accommodated at Novotel Devonport. Can't fault the location and beautiful view of the water. Rooms were lovely and the beds actually comfortable. The only downside was the customer service from the front desk staff and restaurant. Apart from a couple of people, most were not as friendly or attentive as at other Accor hotels (we have Platinum membership).

If I were reviewing just the hotel and its staff, this would easily be a 10/10. The check-in staff were fantastic, the room was lovely with a nice view, and the overall service from the hotel staff was excellent. Even when I came downstairs for dinner, the lady at the check-in area greeted me with a friendly “Good evening.” It’s a small thing, but exactly the sort of service that makes you feel welcome.Unfortunately, that’s where the great experience ended. The restaurant was a completely different story — 1/5. On reflection, the restaurant appears to be extremely poorly run. During dinner I could clearly overhear wait and bar staff openly discussing their frustrations with their manager, James, particularly around his direction, leadership and standards. Obviously I can only judge the restaurant on my own experience, but unfortunately what I experienced seemed consistent with those frustrations. The standard of the food was particularly disappointing. I ordered the Tom Yum Seafood and found the broth very bland and lacking the depth and balance of flavours I would expect from a good Tom Yum. It honestly tasted more like something made from a packet or basic premix than a freshly prepared restaurant dish. The prawns were also served completely unpeeled, similar to how you might receive cold prawns on a seafood platter. If customers are expected to peel prawns covered in hot soup at the table, I would at least expect a finger bowl and appropriate napkins to be provided. Instead, I only had a paper napkin. It was such a contrast because the hotel itself, the room and the hotel staff were excellent and deserving of 5/5. Unfortunately, based on my dinner experience, I would give the restaurant 1/5. Hopefully the restaurant can be brought up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel, because at the moment they feel like two completely different experiences.

The hotel was amazing, very clean and our room with a balcony and river view was perfect. Reception staff were great. The location on the river with the boardwalk was excellent. The surroundings of freshly mowed lawns, water features, lovely trees and location to other shops and the mall was amazing.

We had a comfortable stay at Novotel Devonport with our 16 month old daughter and 2 teenagers. The Staff are very accomodating. Both rooms are clean and our beds are nice. Novotel location is undisputable the heart of the City and close to everything.

Have stayed at the Novotel before and that's why I booked it again. Great room, great view out into Bass Strait, very enjoyable. Breakfast was good with a good variety of food. Restaurant was good although the meal could have been hotter.

Well located, comfortable stay. Painful experience if you chose not to use the valet parking, you are required to park on the street or in the closest carpark and pay (valet parking expensive, considering they move the car 50ms and charge $25). Room service is great, although paying $6 for delivery, it should be free. On the docket- it also stated you could "tip" the waitress, being an Australian resident- this is unusual and more an "American" thing, so I didn't feel the need to tip. Paying $230 for one is already very pricey. Biscuits would be nice to have as a free snack with the coffee and tea provided. Rubbish bin liners need to be available in the room.

Very good Hotel, the rooms were well appointed and the bedding comfortable. Nice bathrooms. If anything, the parking is the biggest challenge to drop off luggage and then only the option of Valet parking onsite, or parking down the street in a public carpark. Outside of that, very nice stay.
