I stayed at Fairmont Udaipur from 21st to 23rd September 2026 with my wife and another couple, with two rooms booked directly through allaccor.com. I am also an ALL Gold member, so I was genuinely expecting a premium experience. The property itself is beautiful. The architecture, views and overall setting are impressive, and we did enjoy the folk performance and high tea. The high-tea staff were among the few who actually displayed the warmth and hospitality one expects at a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, much of the rest of the stay was deeply disappointing. The welcome and check-in felt cold and mechanical. The front desk and reception staff lacked warmth, smiles and even basic guest engagement. At a luxury resort in Udaipur, this was quite surprising. Housekeeping was worse. The wash basin in our room had visible stains. In our friends’ room, there were hairs in the bathtub and even in the tea cups. After our room was serviced, used milk sachets, tea bags and sugar were not replenished either. These are not minor lapses at this price point; they reflect poor attention to detail and weak housekeeping standards. The service at Bahar restaurant was equally underwhelming. The servers often appeared tired and disinterested. Even basic hospitality such as greeting guests with a smile or responding pleasantly while taking an order seemed missing. When guests are paying premium five-star prices for food, they reasonably expect premium service as well. Unfortunately, the service frequently felt far below the standard of the setting and pricing. The spa experience was another major disappointment. My wife and I were considering booking treatments, despite the very high pricing—around ₹11,000 plus taxes per person for a 100-minute spa. However, the manner in which the spa staff spoke to me over the phone was so unimpressive and lacking in basic hospitality that I simply lost interest and cancelled the plan. At such prices, one expects polished, courteous communication from the very first interaction. This only added to an already disappointing stay. There was also a wedding taking place at the property, and I strongly felt that the hotel’s attention had shifted towards the wedding group. Individual leisure guests should never be made to feel secondary simply because a large event is taking place. We were also paying premium rates to enjoy the property. In summary, Fairmont Udaipur is a gorgeous hotel, but the service simply does not match the grandeur of the property. The biggest issue is staff training—across reception, housekeeping, restaurant service and even the spa. Luxury is not just about architecture, views and high prices. It is also about warmth, attentiveness, cleanliness and how a guest is made to feel. During this stay, that part was sadly missing.

The property was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. However, I experienced quite a few issues from the very first day I arrived, that I wouldn't expect from a 5 star hotel. Firstly, it took 45 minutes for my luggage to be brought to my room. My bathroom had empty bath lotion and an empty loofah packet. I stayed for 5 nights but my room was cleaned only twice despite me putting the 'clean my room' sign on every day. My room was opposite the lift area and the music they played was pretty loud that I could hear it clearly from my room and this was 24/7 so I struggled to sleep some nights. Service was extremely slow and sometimes they would forget if I had asked for something - no staff around to take drink orders in the pool area and when I asked the restaurant, they said someone would come, but no one did. The food at the restaurant was alright, but hit or miss with a lot of the dishes - for instance I wouldn't recommend ordering anything that is not Indian food. There were two power cuts in my room across the stay as well. Breakfast is not so good either, only the India dishes were fantastic. A lot of the cereal tasted extremely stale like it had been left there for a while. Biggest saving grace was how beautiful the room and the property was, as well as how kind and attentive the staff could be at times. I definitely wouldn't come back, but overall, I'm not displeased - just not quite there in terms of 5 star luxury.

my name is Dr. Jay M.. I stayed in Fairmont to celebrate my wife's birthday. we stayed there on 5th and 6th September. where to begin with??. right from the moment we stepped in, we didn't feel like leaving Fairmont. I have stayed in many luxurious resorts all across India, but so far, Fairmont Udaipur has been the best. the most welcoming staff I have seen, they greeted us very well by giving personal touch. I shall begin with Mr. Karanpreet Singh, the duty manager. he is exceptionally well in doing his job, and he took care of my 10 years old daughter that we didn't have to worry about her at all. He is a gem of a person. then comes Ms. Thungjano, (buttler service incharge). I shall like to thank her specially for all the care and services she looked into. then comes Mr. Vijay and entire staff at the restaurant "Bahaar". we had dinner at Bahaar, and the food was so good that we can still not forget the taste. and the staff at the restaurant, as I mentioned, all were so good and efficient. then comes the Bar, again the drinks were so nicely made plus the bartender ( I forgot his name), he made sure that we had the drinks like we wanted. the swimming pool is amazing, my daughter loved it. the hotel lobby is so huge and very well made that you can spend hours in the lobby itself. this was the best gift Fairmont gave me on my wife's birthday. thank you Fairmont once again and am looking forward to stay here again and again just to pamper ourselves.

Below average service marred the whole stay experience. Cleanliness needs much to be desired, as solied towels and hair in the food is something nobody wants on their vacation. Though the wait staff at bahaar did their best to give us a good experience. Pravesh and his team, along with the ayush and concierge team did go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

The Welcome and Stay was Great. CheckIn was tedious and not so smooth. In room service was average, we faced issue with TV access, Lightings, unnecessary lights staying on and disturbing all through the night. Room Service never showed up to resolve the matters. We were accompanied with an infant, the crib provided by the hotel malfunctioned and the baby fell with the base of the crib. Most disappointing of all was the food: There were hardly any jain options through all courses. Chefs seemed to have no idea what and how jain meals are cooked. The Rajasthani Thali experience was the worst, all the veges offered had the same gravy. Apart from the ambience and aesthetics, almost everything needs to be worked on. The staff needs to be learned about facilities, timings, locations, etc.

Everything was extremely well managed, and the service throughout was excellent. The warmth, attentiveness, and hospitality extended by the team truly made my stay memorable. I would especially like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Pravesh and Lavish for taking such great care of my table and making our celebrations so special. They arranged my birthday celebration beautifully, and what impressed me even more was that they somehow came to know that it was my wife’s birthday as well. Without us even mentioning it, they arranged a lovely celebration for her too. It was a genuinely thoughtful gesture and meant a lot to us. The weather conditions made it difficult to arrange an outdoor table, but Pravesh went the extra mile to ensure that we still had a wonderful dining experience at Zaika. He personally coordinated and arranged an indoor table for us. Later, when we arrived for our dinner reservation, even though the table and chairs had become wet due to the weather, he immediately ensured that everything was changed and properly arranged before seating us. That level of attention to detail and personal involvement was truly exceptional. I honestly did not know that Pravesh was the floor manager at the time, but his professionalism, ownership, and genuine care for the guest clearly reflected strong leadership. He was absolutely brilliant, and his team was equally wonderful. A very special appreciation to Pravesh, Lavish, and the entire team for making our celebrations so memorable. Their efforts went far beyond routine service, and it is people like them who truly make a hotel stay special. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I am extremely grateful for the hospitality extended to us. Please convey my sincere appreciation to the entire team.

Everything was good, except the Lounge experience. The service and staff attitude was pathetic. Any drink being served tool much longer time than expected. This was not the case for any other area, just observed this while availing the lounge facility.
