We got to udaipur after the Indigo strike. Prior to arrival, we were all a bit anxious because of the situation but the hotel accommodated us with date amendments and were flexible enough with this. I’d looked up the hotel before our visit and had some sort of expectations but all were highly surpassed as soon as we got there. The hotel is set on a hill, we got there at night time and we could see it from far with the lights lit up. At first, we genuinely thought we were getting to the wrong place due to how grand it is! On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff, they handed us fresh towels and immediately made us feel at ease and we forgot all our worries. We forgot the name of the person who conducted the viewing but we appreciated being shown around and being made aware about all the facilities available, he was very professional and polite with great presence. The lobby and the views are the main character of the building. I couldn’t believe it only opened this year as the site has so much character and blends modern with traditions so well. The staff is even better than the hotel, all of them go above and beyond. On the first day, Ashta gave us directions as to what we should order. I personally had the best biryani ever tasted and I consider myself a biryani connoisseur, my father really really enjoyed his laal mas so big massive kuddos to the chef. The balance between spice and aromatic is impressive. The second day, we wanted to try it all and decided to go with the buffet, we got served by Shoeb, he had a great smile all along, we received outstanding service from him and great attention to details without being too intrusive. A special mention to TJ too at reception who spent time with me extending my booking (we simply didnt want to leave!) punctuated with some great suggestions to what can be done in the city. She was very patient and resourceful. I cannot recommend the fairmont enough, we never had a stay quite like this and we thank everyone who contributed to making it so special. Everyone works so hard and it shows!

From that very first interaction to every moment that followed, the experience was truly exceptional.
