We had a memorable family stay at Fairmont Udaipur Palace. The property is beautiful, our upgraded room with cabana and terrace was excellent, and the Gold recognition was much appreciated. However, service execution needs improvement. With only 1–2 golf carts available, getting around the large property and reaching activity areas involved significant waiting. The “Aravalli Sundowner” was held indoors on the 4th floor, so we missed the sunset and views we expected. Dinner was also considerably below our expectations for a luxury resort. The manager was receptive to our feedback and arranged a thoughtful recovery later in the evening. Better internal transport, a genuine sunset setting and stronger dining would make this an exceptional Fairmont experience.

The service throughout our stay was unacceptably slow and extremely disappointing. It appeared that, because a marriage function was taking place at the property, the primary priority of the staff was to cater to the guests attending the wedding, while the other hotel guests were effectively neglected. As paying guests, we found this completely unacceptable.
One incident in particular demonstrates the extent of the lack of service. We completed our dinner through In-Room Dining at approximately 2:30 AM, and the used plates and dishes were left outside our room for the entire night and throughout the following morning. They were still lying there when we checked out at around 1:00 PM the next afternoon. This means the plates remained unattended for approximately 10½ hours despite us being guests staying at the property. Such a basic lapse in housekeeping and guest service is extremely difficult to understand at a luxury property like Fairmont.
The In-Room Dining itself was also a major disappointment. The food we ordered at night was excessively salty and not at all up to the standard expected from a luxury hotel. When guests are paying premium prices for accommodation as well as food, basic standards of food quality and service should be a given.
We had specifically chosen and booked Cabana rooms because we were travelling as a group of friends and wanted to sit together, spend quality time and enjoy the property. In total, we had five rooms booked at Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Considering the size of our booking and the fact that we were deliberately choosing your property for a special group stay, the level of service we received was even more disappointing.
I would also like to emphasize that the amount we paid for the rooms and food was certainly not inexpensive. We paid a premium with the expectation that we would receive the level of hospitality, attention and service associated with the Fairmont brand. Unfortunately, the experience we received did not come anywhere close to justifying the amount we paid.
To be completely honest, booking Fairmont Udaipur Palace turned out to be a disaster for us, and we genuinely regret choosing the property for our stay. What was supposed to be an enjoyable stay with friends instead became a frustrating and disappointing experience.
Moreover, I am an ALL Accor+ Explorer member, and therefore I am particularly disappointed that our experience at a Fairmont property fell so far short of the level of service and hospitality I associate with the Accor group.
While I appreciate that you have stated that our feedback has been shared with the relevant teams, I would expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed with specific and meaningful corrective action, rather than being treated as routine guest feedback.
We chose Fairmont because we expected a premium experience. Unfortunately, what we experienced was the opposite — slow service, poor attention to guests, unacceptable In-Room Dining quality, and a complete lack of basic follow-up from the hotel staff.
This experience has left us with a very poor impression of Fairmont Udaipur Palace and has certainly made us reconsider staying at the property again in the future.

We had an excellent stay at Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Thank you for the generous upgrade and for recognizing my Accor Platinum status. The food was excellent, and once everything was settled, the overall experience worked like a charm.
There were, however, a few avoidable hiccups. At check-in, I wasn't informed about breakfast timings, my Platinum benefits or lounge access. I was also asked to pay ₹8,000+ taxes for my 15-year-old daughter, despite my Accor booking clearly showing 2 adults + 1 child and the amount already being paid through the official Accor app. I was then contacted again in the room asking for the same payment. I had to email screenshots before this was finally resolved. The confusion seemed to stem from the hotel's child policy versus how Accor automatically treats a 15-year-old as a third adult during booking. This made the check-in experience unnecessarily uncomfortable.
There was similar confusion initially at the lounge regarding Platinum benefits, although once clarified, everything worked very well.
A special shout-out to Sudharshan, who guided us through check-in; Harsh at Daastan Lounge; Anshul at Dahad Bar; and Debadrita, who even helped get our check-in at ITC Mementos sorted before we arrived.
Overall, a wonderful stay and some genuinely excellent staff, but clearer communication of benefits and better handling of the child/booking issue would make the experience considerably smoother.

We were there on occasion of our daughter's birthday, and we enjoyed our stay. Property is very beautiful. We were delighted with their gesture for providing an upgrade to room with plunge pool. Food quality and taste was good though breakfast options was almost same every day. We will surely repeat this property in our next udaipur staycation.
We also had one bad experience during our stay as some guest had entered the pool on morning of 25th in their undergarments and Tshirt Capris. They were not even listening to the pool attendant who was continuously asking them for wearing appropriate swimwear

A Stay I’ll Remember for a Lifetime
I usually don’t take the time to write hotel reviews, but this stay truly deserves an exception. Some stays are simply enjoyable, while a few become memories that you carry with you for a lifetime — and this was definitely one of them.
I would give this property 100 out of 10. Honestly, I have never experienced such an exceptional stay at any hotel before. From the beautiful location and warm, friendly staff to the food, hospitality, and attention to detail, everything was simply top-notch.
My only regret is that I didn’t book this hotel for at least two days. But I can promise you, that won’t happen again. The next time I visit Udaipur, I’ll definitely be staying here — and honestly, I might just visit Udaipur again just to experience this hotel!

Our stay at Fairmont Udaipur Palace was truly exceptional. The palace is breathtaking—grand, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a perfect blend of royal Rajasthani architecture and contemporary luxury. Every corner reflects sophistication, from the magnificent interiors to the beautifully landscaped surroundings.
