Everything went well except the water smell was not good

Gaurav ensured our stay was seamless from start to finish. The hotel itself is fabulous, food was incredible and the service was way above par!

We stayed at Raffles Udaipur for a birthday celebration and unfortunately came away with very mixed feelings. The property itself is stunning, with beautiful lake views and a lovely island setting. There are also some genuinely excellent staff members and activities. However, the overall hospitality, service consistency and attention to detail fell significantly short of what I expected from Raffles, particularly considering the premium price we paid. The biggest disappointment was that the stay did not really feel like a Raffles experience. There was no personalised butler, no real royal-style arrival welcome with the traditional embellished umbrella and ceremonial welcome, and no in-room registration/check-in. There was also very little personalised attention around the birthday celebration. These details may seem small individually, but they are precisely the things I would expect to distinguish a Raffles stay from simply staying at an expensive luxury hotel. There were, however, several genuinely good experiences. When my child felt nauseous on arrival, the team kindly arranged fresh lime with a little soda, which was appreciated. The boat transfer from the mainland to the island was a nice experience, although the ride felt a little slow. The children's activities were probably the highlight of our stay. My child loved the indoor games room, which was well maintained and had helpful staff. The clay pottery and farming activities were also excellent. A special shout-out to Mr. Santosh from the horticulture team, who was warm and engaging and made the farming activity of growing ladyfingers particularly memorable. I also want to recognise the housekeeping team. Our room had not been cleaned properly initially, but the housekeeping in-charge personally took ownership, resolved the issue and arranged complimentary gifts for all three of us. That was a genuinely positive example of service recovery. Unfortunately, there were too many other avoidable service lapses. We had specifically requested a lake-view room, but were initially given a room without the requested view. We were eventually moved, but only after I repeatedly followed up despite being told the team would call once the room was ready. I had to personally chase the process and run around to get the room changed. The issue was eventually resolved, but the lack of follow-through was disappointing. The birthday cake was another example. Being welcomed with a cake was a nice gesture, but it was presented at reception rather than as a personalised in-room experience. We were told it would subsequently be sent to our room, but despite reminding the team twice, it arrived only around three hours later. We also only discovered later that cycling was available on the property; nobody proactively informed us about it. The property was under maintenance in several areas, including the main swimming pool being closed. We were directed to the onshore pool instead, but a 30–40 minute round trip from an island resort is hardly a practical alternative. The dining experience was mixed. The food itself was fine, but the service was below what I expected from a luxury hotel. At lunch, we waited around 35 minutes despite there being very few guests and were served only a papad while waiting. More frustratingly, the main course arrived before the starter. At dinner, ice was added to a soft drink despite our explicit request for no ice. Even room service had avoidable lapses. We ordered hot milk at night and waited around 15 minutes before realising it had not arrived. We eventually had to call again. The most frustrating incident happened on our final morning. The night before, we clearly informed the team that we needed to check out around 8 AM for a flight and would not have time for breakfast. We were told that breakfast could be packed in the morning and that multiple items could be arranged. However, the next morning, we were told that only aloo paratha could be provided unless we completed a lengthy form. Had we been told about this requirement the previous evening, we would obviously have completed it. Instead, we were given one expectation and a completely different answer when we were already rushing for a flight. This was extremely disappointing and unnecessary. The checkout process added further stress. I personally checked that our luggage had been loaded onto the boat and expected it to reach the mainland before us, particularly as it was being transferred separately by speedboat. However, our luggage arrived around 10–12 minutes after we did. There were no other guests checking out at that point and ours was the only luggage, so the delay was difficult to understand. With a flight to catch, those additional minutes created completely unnecessary stress. To be fair, not everything was poor. The property is beautiful, the children's activities were excellent, and some members of the team genuinely cared. The housekeeping in-charge, the indoor games staff and especially Mr. Santosh from horticulture deserve recognition. But ultimately, guests choosing Raffles are paying a premium for more than a beautiful property. They are paying for personalised hospitality, thoughtful touches, seamless execution and impeccable attention to detail. Unfortunately, our stay involved too many avoidable lapses, repeated follow-ups and broken expectations. Rather than consistently feeling looked after, I often felt that I had to manage things myself. At around ₹50,000, I expected a stay that felt special from beginning to end. Instead, I came away feeling that the overall experience did not justify the premium we paid. Raffles Udaipur has a stunning property and some very good people. With better consistency, stronger ownership and greater attention to the details that define the Raffles experience, it could be exceptional. Unfortunately, our stay did not reach that standard.

The hotel and grounds are very beautiful and provided an idyllic location for the wedding which we attended. Your staff are happy and respectful and very attentive. Everyone, from the ladies and men in the gardens to the personal butlers and waiting staff were exceptional. Unfortunately, my wife and experienced a serious bout of sickness and diarrhea. This meant that we missed the final wedding ceremony. Also, we have lingering illness which is now affecting our further tour to the golden triangle. We know that our illness is not an isolated case because many other British and Indian guests also suffered. I would like "Raffles" to apologise and explain how this occurred.

Hidden in its own peaceful world of beauty, it felt like discovering a secret lake palace—away from the noise, surrounded by tranquillity, and filled with timeless elegance. What truly made our stay memorable was the people and their warmth. From the moment we arrived to the moment we said goodbye, every detail showed genuine care and perfect hospitality. A sincere thank you to Mr Sukhpreet Singh Bath for taking such wonderful care of us. His warmth, kindness, and personal attention added a beautiful family touch to the experience. And our butler was great Gaurav Mendiratta & team including Krishna and Suraj, they made sure everything was aligned. One gesture, in particular, will stay with us. We accidentally left some valuable belongings behind, and the Mr.Singh & his team made sure they were safely returned to us quickly after our departure. That honesty and care go far beyond luxury — they define true hospitality. Raffles Udaipur was more than just a place to stay; it was a pause from the hustle , a moment of peace, and a home away from home. We leave with beautiful memories, a strong feeling that we will return.

The property is beautiful, expansive, and impressively well maintained, with plenty of activities to enjoy during the day. However, there were several aspects of our stay that unfortunately did not meet the expectations associated with Raffles, especially considering we had opted for the Romance at Raffles package at an additional cost. These issues collectively took away from what was meant to be a very special occasion. 1. There was a huge gap between the package inclusions and the actual experience. 2. We had specifically requested an upper-floor room and made the booking nearly two months in advance. Despite this, we were allocated a room on the second floor. Later, while exploring the property, we noticed that rooms on the upper floors appeared to be unoccupied, making the allocation difficult to understand. 3. We had informed the team in advance that we would prefer a non-alcoholic alternative. Unfortunately, we neither received an alternative nor any communication regarding our request. 4. During checkout, we specifically asked whether there were any pending dues and were informed that there were none. Since my card details had already been shared, I assumed any remaining amount would be settled automatically if required. It was therefore quite embarrassing to be stopped at the Lakeshore and asked to pay an outstanding amount of ₹10k. While I understand that billing errors can happen, the situation left me feeling extremely uncomfortable in front of my wife and took away from an otherwise memorable occasion. 5. Before our visit, we tried calling the spa multiple times using the contact number provided in the app, but no one answered. As a result, we were unable to book a couple's spa session for our special occasion, which was disappointing. Overall, while the property, food, and many members of your team were excellent, the experience did not fully reflect the premium service and attention to detail that one associates with the Raffles brand.

I wanted a comfortable stay with at least 100 Mbps internet for my work and great food for my palate. I got both of these at Raffles. The stay was very comfortable and luxurious. The internet was very good and stable so I could work without any interruption and the food was outstanding. The service was great as well.

Had a great overall stay at Raffles Udaipur. Beautiful property, excellent food and wonderful hospitality. Special thanks to Abhinav at Reception for being very helpful and cooperative, and Laxman for excellent service during dinner. The only issue was a dirty/hot water problem in the bathroom, which required multiple calls before the room was eventually changed. A little more proactive responsiveness from the team would improve the experience.

I had booked the second best category at Raffles but i think it was not worth it at all. Its very over rated.i wasted my money The package which i booked had a very bad buffet dinner where there was no place to sit also
