Did not accept Amex, hotel is not up to standard

It was my fault that I did not make a booking and they were helpful... however they did not accept Amexi card, which caused an inconvenience... I think the hotel standard is not reflecting the price paid (looks old)

Please express my sincerest apologies for uncomfortable experience at our hotel. At our hotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer and your feedback is very important to us. Hotel Tallinn By Mercure opened its doors in the beginning of April. Before receiving this building for new team, this hotel had previous management and worked under different name. We are notified that unfortunately hotel is not in the best condition. However, we make changes gradually. So far, we have replaced all beds and added small details and we already prepare to renovate and improve rooms in this year – making rooms more modernized and comfortable to our guests. Unfortunately, our hotel accepts only VISA, MasterCard and Estonian bank payment cards and cash. We would like to add to the check-in process that I and our team highly value young people, who are interested in hospitality and helping people and gaining diverse experience. Yes, I will let them know about your check-in process and breakfast service so that we can know the strengths and weaknesses of our team. Rest assured that we are responding appropriately to address the problems and prevent future occurrences – our team is always happy and ready to solve any problems on spot, therefore please do not hesitate to contact me or our team if there is unsolved questions for you. The place was very clean, pretty, and affordable. I had a business event in the Ülemiste Centre and the hotel was located right next to the centre. My only complaint is that because right next to the hotel on the other side is the airport, there were airplanes flying over the hotel through the night. Nothing to be done about that, though.

The hotel has been nicely renovated. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. it was difficult to control the temperature, but it wasn't out of control so not a big issue. The only real issue was that the shower in the morning didn't mix hot and cold water but rather oscillated between scaling hot and freezing cold. You could only control the rate of oscillation. It did not have this issue the night before.
