Room and location were, as usual, very good and well suited for my business stay. Reception service was acceptable, though somewhat indifferent. The real disappointment was breakfast, which I added at the last minute due to a change in my business trip, expecting it to be an enjoyable part of the stay. The initial welcome at the restaurant was fine. However, the service attitude quickly became an issue. Having traveled extensively across three continents, including Nordic countries, I must say the level of indifference I experienced here was below what I would normally expect. It is worth noting that during a previous stay at this same hotel, I had suggested in a review that it would be nice to have a ham and cheese omelette option, as this is commonly available in many hotels I stay at. At that time, the hotel manager replied that this was already an option, but that it simply needed to be requested from the kitchen. Based on that prior confirmation, I politely asked whether a ham and cheese omelette could be prepared. The staff member immediately led me to the buffet and pointed at the scrambled eggs, insisting that this was an omelette. When I pointed out that they were clearly scrambled eggs — even labeled as such — she removed the label and again insisted they were an omelette, which felt dismissive and inappropriate. After I firmly reiterated my request, she finally agreed to check with the kitchen. What I eventually received was another version of powdered scrambled eggs, not the ham and cheese omelette I had requested. This experience significantly impacted my stay and does not meet the service standards I associate with the Mercure brand. I am rating this stay a 4 solely due to the breakfast experience. I will continue using this hotel because of its rooms and location, but I will definitely not take breakfast here again.

Our reception team is normally recognized for being welcoming, professional, and engaging, and we regret that this was not your experience on this occasion. While we cannot determine the specific circumstances that led to this indifference, we fully acknowledge that it should not have happened and sincerely apologize for the disappointment it caused. Your feedback has been shared with our management and department heads, and we are using it as a learning opportunity to reinforce training, service standards, and accountability across our teams.
