NO food service after breakfast...which was marginal at best (raw bacon, slim choice of cereals....) A totally hazardous sequence of glass doors that caused me to run into one and fall badly on the hardwood floor. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THIS. Nice pillows. Few of the staff spoke any functional English (or any Western language), they tried but.... Poorly lit rooms Shower shampoo was empty and never refilled One bottle of bottled water for a five-night stay (locals do not even drink the tap water!) Wonderful young lady (Violetta?) at the Concierge was the one bright spot...helpful and good English...reward her!

I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Jazz in Chisinau. The hotel is located in the centre, in the walking distance from all the major places. The bus from/to the airport has a stop not faraway from the hotel. There are a lot of shops and restaurants around, including several supermarkets. I had a lovely superior room, which has a fridge, a safe and a kettle (very much appreciated). The ligthing in the rooms is not the strongest but apart from that, I was very happy with the room - it was nice, clean and cosy. Wifi worked well throughout my stay. There is quite a lot of noise at night in the centre of Chisinau (laud parties at the nearby Radisson hotel) but this is not the fault of the Mercure hotel. Breakfast is served in the restaurant downstairs from 7.00 to 10.30. 7.00 beginning is not always respected, which might be a problem if you need to leave. The choice is limited but for a couple of days, it is absolutely OK. The receptionists were very nice and friendly, especially the young lady who was at the reception when I was checking in and who really made me feel welcomed at the hotel. Generally, this was a nice experience and I would not hesitate to choose this hotel again during my next stay in Chisinau.

I stayed for four nights and the room was very big with a place to work. There is also much choice for breakfast. The staff was service-oriented.
