Arrived in Takayama yesterday night and checked into Hida Mercure Takayama. This is our 4th Accor properties stay in 26 days holidays in Japan. Smooth intro on hotel facilities and Platinum members benefits. Platinum and above are considered as VIP here. The modern and beautiful hotel privilege lounge is next to the reception. Lounge is opened to all hotels guests with everything chargeable. For Accor Platinum and above members, free flow drinks and Takayama titbits (see photo) are available from 1400 to 1800 daily. This Mercure has a well decorated, lighted, wooden-theme, beautiful and modern restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Very spacious with plenty of sittings. (see next review on breakfast) Room was upgraded from superior double to high floor privilege double. Size is like standard Japanese hotel. But we love the wooden decorated, modern and sweet ambience in the room. Appreciate the simple but wonderful members amenities and welcome note in room. Special priced dinner Shabu-shabu set menu available in the hotel restaurant for all guests. Accor will enjoy another 30% off. Love the entire hotel setup. Elegant, modern twist with beautiful wooden decorations. There's even a real fireplace at the lobby. Really enjoyed the warm during this early spring.. Hobar Restaurant We were very impressed by Hida Mercure Hotel throughout to date with another 3 nights to go. The breakfast/dinner restaurant was very pleasant, cozy, clean and modern. Breakfast was delicious, excellent and varied. The F&B team are attentive, friendly, patient and helpful. Buffet breakfasts are complimentry for Platinum and above. Omelette and boil eggs are served at table for Platinum. Much more western dishes are available here.. Great for starting your day of sightseeing!

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. The staff were very helpful including one reception staff making us a diner reservation at a local restaurant. The room was a good size and comfortable bed. The breakfast was the best we have had in Japan. Will return to Takayama and stay in your hotel again. Arigato gozaimasu
