Mercure brand seems to be going down market. In our room 108 the front door didn't close properly & had to be slammed hard. The jug lid was damaged & difficult to open. The were no power points beside the bed - a little attention to detail I thought all Accor hotels had. And I paid an extra $10 for river & city views, but being on the 1st floor the only view was of taxis across the road. And finally, perhaps nit picking, why do you persist the Devondale milk in containers that are impossible to open without spilling milk? Why not a milk provider who has the courtesy to provide milk in a container that pours without spilling.

Upon arrival we were told our extra bed would be set up in the room already and it was. Room comfortable and clean. The only thing was the bathroom. Tad bit unclean and there was black mould in the grout and on the doors/walls. That’s the only thing we weren’t overall happy with. The shower needed a good scrub and the fan/vent needs to be cleaned of dust. The mini fridge needs defrosting and the temp control was set to 5 which is not cold enough. Staff friendly and helpful. The new breakfast room looked lovely- last time we stayed it was still being built. Happy customers. Just need to sort out the bathrooms.

Adequate accomdation. Nothing special. Old, dated, unspectacular (especially for the price. Friendly staff who relocated after the proposed room smelled like someone had spilled a bottle of bleach and had an intolerable stench.
