Gig in Amsterdam

Visited for a weekend to see a gig in Amsterdam. Location is a little outside of the centre but you can get into the city centre in 5 mins on the Metro which is really good and seemed far safer, cleaner and reliable than London. Hotel is literally on the doorstep of the metro. There is not much around the hotel but if you turn left when leaving there are a good couple of coffee shops/cafes. Didn’t eat in the hotel and so can’t comment. They only offered pizza which was disappointing. They don’t take cash which I didn’t like. The room was large and spacious with a comfy bed. Facilities were good and the hotel had a gym which we didn’t use. Amsterdam a fabulous place with so much to offer, great scenery, food and people.

BEST ISSUE SOLVED BY JORN METTERNICH. I WILL DO MY BEST TO KEEP THIS CONDENSED. I LOVE AMSTERDAM,HATE HOTELS.Com.TRIBE

I booked on Hotels.com. Which I hate and offer poor service. I booked TRIBE HOTEL for a casual experience for 20 days. Well the hotel as cool and hip as it is; with the nicest people was sooooooooo far away from where the pulse of the city is and I wanted to stay. But as always booking with a 3rd party screws you to the wall with their policies and red tape. A gentleman approached me at a complimentary breakfast because I was charged another $3000 dollars for taxes. Bam. Who knew. JORN METTERNICH, OPERATING MANAGER approached me due to the issues I was having. The biggest one not having a room in the phone and having to use WhatsApp (which is allllllll I use for work and that got me crazy not to mention HOTELS.Com misleading information. I have a spinal Issue but like to walk around the city for an hour. Go back to the room. Lie down and go back out. No agenda but accidentally discovering the amazing city and architecture of Amsterdam. So I use the AI WhatsApps service which just got me aggravated and the hotel is in the north. Not south so I would need to subway (whatever it is called. I’m from NYC) or Uber it to enjoy the city. I also complained about the €3000 plus tax added to my bill. I clearly wasn’t pleased after €150 taxi ride from airport to hotel then the tax and I asked for a room facing sometime nice. My room faces the freeway. Long story short. I believe through th Ai WhatsApp. JORN found me ask breakfast and spent at least 1.5 hours helping me to move hotels, get my money returned and found a small hotel so I can enjoy Amsterdam as it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For anyone in the industry. I strongly recommend to get Jorn on your Executive Committee. I’m 61 and have stayed in 100’s of hotels, from the top of the top to boutique hotels and dealt with management etc and NEVER IN ALL OF MY LIFE HAVE I HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE TURN INTO A GOOD ONE. but they need to have telephones to connect to real people in real time. Not AI WHATAPP which didn’t understand 1/2 of my questions. Thank you JORN. regards, Steven

A Very Caring Hotel

A very clean and efficient Hotel but it's overwhelming asset is it's very helpful and caring staff. I was unfortunate and had a fall, not in the Hotel, they immediately provided a wheelchair and said I was to keep it as long as it was needed. They clearly have very good lines of communication as the staff all knew what had happened and everyone we came in contact with, went out of their way to as helpful as they possibly could. The cleaners, maintenance staff, reception, bar staff and Uri, who I think was employed a few hours per week to promote customer relations, all went that extra mile. Thank you Tribe Amsterdam

Beautiful hotel and location but service disappointing

The hotel’s location was perfect, right by the train station, making it easy to explore Amsterdam. The decor and design were beautiful, but the service was disappointing. There was no phone in the room — communication was only through WhatsApp, with slow replies. Our first night, we found a hole in the bedsheet, and the TV remote didn’t work. After reporting it, they responded the next morning, promising to replace both, but only the sheet was changed. The remote still didn’t work on the second and third nights. Eventually, a staff member visited and confirmed the TV was faulty, offering a room change — but since we were leaving the next day, it felt pointless. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable, with no alternatives, leading to poor sleep. The only apology came on our last night with a drinks voucher, but when my friend ordered a spirit and mixer, she was still charged despite the voucher including spirits. The hotel itself was lovely, but the lack of urgency, poor communication, and discomfort made the stay disappointing.

Great hotel, definitely recommend and will definitely be staying here again when visiting Amterdam. I was initially dubious of the location but with the tube station being a 30 second walk from the hotel, it was perfect. M52 was regular, consistent and was only 2 stops to centraal station so made life very easy. Last M52 from centraal was around 00:50 at the time of the visit, which was great. The hotel itself was lovely, nice open lobby with umbrellas to use. We didn't have food there but the restaurant/bar area looked amazing. Rooms were decorated lovely, great size and had everything we needed. The only very very small downside was we were unable to open the windows to get fresh air, but that seems common with modern hotels. 10/10.
