Very average hotel for very expensive price

Very basic hotel for an exorbitant price. The room smelt very musty and stale with no air. We had a triple room. The aircon did not work and neither did the fan in the bathroom. The bathroom had mould on ceiling. The maintenance guy came and fixed aircon but couldnt fix bathroom, so we moved rooms. The 2nd room aircon was no better and the self closing function on door did not close, we came back and to find our door not closed properly after the cleaners had been. Location is probably only good thing going for it.

central location but in an area suitable for a child

Traveled to Amsterdam for a short break with my husband adult daughter and tween son. I wanted to stay in a central location but in an area suitable for a child which can be quite hard to find at a reasonable price. This hotel ticked all the boxes it was family friendly in a great location removed from anything that would be too saucy. It’s modern clean and the staff friendly. You can get the train from the airport directly to the station next door and it’s also very near where you get the bus and boat tours of Amsterdam.

Worst hotel experience of my life

I booked online thru their website for 4 nights. When I showed up they had my reservation in their system, said I was all paid and gave me my key. The next day they knock on my door to tell me I had to come downstairs to settle my bill. They claimed my online booking was only a reservation but not a payment, so I paid again. After I looked at my credit card statement and realized I had in fact been charged (at a $200 price diffence that they had no explanation for) They then suddenly found my "missing payment" and assured me I'd be refunded (of course the smaller amount) Well, I got mt statement today, weeks later, no refund, now I'm having to deal with the credit card company. The cherrt on top? My last day there, THREE TIMES, different people knock on my door to tell me I somehow had not been charged/ still owe city room tax. When I go downstairs to pay they said it was a mistake and had been paid. The rooms are also very small with paper thin walls. You can understand what is being said in rooms that don't even share walls. AVOID

3 star train station hotel

Spent 2 nites here. We had a room on the 1st floor that had a window with view to eyeball train passengers from. Train was literally parallel to the train and at end of the track. So close we cld prob touch the train if we cld open the window. Thank goodness the curtains were thick enough and we had some privacy. Well sound proof room or train, We cld not hear the train come to a stop. very ex prob cos of location. NO kettle, fridge, safe or anything for that matter at over 900SGD a nite. Advantage of being on 1st flr is you dont have to wait for the lift. Stayed at NHOW RAI for a week before this. What a difference . At that price, I won't be back any time soon. My advice wld be stay outside city centre and take a train in. You will sleep better.

Though super convenient next to Amsterdam Centraal the hotel has poorly trained staff and even more terrible amenities. Read before you go! No in-room coffee bar, no calling service to front desk- you will have to come down every single time you need help, no luggage rack… the list just goes on. This is not a normal hotel but just a fancy hostel. On top of that, we had our locker broken which was never fixed after repeated requests, soap bottles were left unfilled, beds were partially tidied. Avoid if you can get a better hotel.
