Gorgeous room (free upgrade!). The staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was lovely.

Arthur Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

Check in is a disaster as always. The stupid desk is too wide and offers no privacy. It’s never clear who you should be talking to and they never seem to know which card machine works. I always get the impression it’s a training ground for staff. I was then told that my complimentary drinks were available via an app, which I don’t have and which I shall never have. I went to the bar and asked for the drinks - the young lady was quite unpleasant and unfriendly and asked if I had the app (yawn) which I told her I didn’t. She then phoned reception and spoke to them - bear in mind I had been at reception about 30 seconds earlier to check in - and came back to tell me I needed the app. I said “but you’ve just spoken to reception” and her reply was “yes, but I don’t know who you are, how do I know if you’re entitled to complimentary drinks.” I resisted the urge to ask her why she had phoned reception. 🤷‍♂️. I just decided to pay for the drinks - it was easier. I also note that you are no longer taking cash - this is also unacceptable (as well as having to have an app) so as far as I am concerned, my relationship with Novotel is at an end. The quality of the food was good and Katie, who delivered it, was pleasant as always. However, the young lady who was at the bar needs a serious attitude adjustment if she intends to stay in hospitality.

We do appreciate that some guests do not like the digital drinks voucher, or the app and we do allow for this, by having some paper vouchers to give to our guests. I am sorry that on this occasion , this did not happen for you , which then marred your experience in the bar. I will certainly feed this back to the team. With regards to the desk and the team on it, your comments surprise me, as the team on the desk are all very experienced and professional and receive amazing feedback on a day to day basis. The desk was designed by Accor, to give our guests a little more of an informal experience and I am sorry to hear that this just not for you. We do , however, thank you for bringing this to our attention , as we use all guest feedback to improve our quality of service wherever possible. Kind regards Amanda

We spent 3 nights here over the ‘Twixmas’ break and had a very enjoyable experience. All of the staff were polite and friendly and the hotel was light/ airy and very clean and tidy! Highly recommended 🙂

Very very dirty room

The room was very dirty, they changed, but another room was dirty too, with some used platch on the floor, black hairs on the sheets. I think they doesnt change sheets.
