We stayed here a few years ago and had not been back but this week stayed for a one night stay. The property has an amazing position overlooking the marina, the same beautiful blue water as in airlie beach, landscaped gardens , watching the boats, the views of the islands , stunning. We love the walks along the beach area and the breakwater, the pool is perfect, warm and big enough to swim. The staff in every department were fantastic, friendly, professional, flexible, and the quality of the food requires special mention.Sai the head chef is so talented the dishes we tried for dinner exceeded meals we have eaten in sydney /melbourne at sofitels etc , he is imaginative, and creates combinations unique to this menu and restaurant, this was the first dinner we have had in years that we both thoroughly enjoyed for quality , taste , serving. We tried the seafood linguini/ eye fillet steak and a special dish the king prawn kerala, all perfect. Thanks to Sai we have booked to stayed in a couple of months and look forward to enjoying your amazing chef skills. The restaurant staff wendy and monika were just lovely, we loved talking to them and they gave us great advice thank you girls. The restaurant has amazing views and atmosphere with music and location unbeatable. Julie at breakfast and the breakfast chef apologies for not having your name, thank you for preparing a delicious breakfast for us and being flexible as we needs to go to medical appointments first. And to Fallon and Justine on reception thankyou to you for looking after us and helping with our next booking.

Not one of my better stays at Mantra Mackay. When I first checked in, I double checked to see if my Accor live was linked to my booking. It wasn’t that is fine, that is my travel agents fault. I informed the front desk member that I was a gold member twice and had to ask if they had any gifts for the gold members, to which I then received my chocolates. Great. My face towel wasn’t replaced until 3 days in despite it being on the floor in the shower for two days. When it was replaced, again my face towel didn’t get replaced before I left. I asked the staff at the restaurant about 3 times to confirm if my breakfast was included with my room to which she never confirmed and just went about working. And lastly I think the quality of coffee needs some improvement. I ordered coffee three times over my stay and two times I received burnt coffee. One or two minor inconveniences wouldn’t typically bother me but I given I travel to Mackay a bit and always stay at the Mantra, it’s left me feeling like an annoying customer who should probably just go somewhere else next time.

Stayed in Room 6003. Bad corrosion on bathroom fittings and others broken off and mount left on the wall. No kettle in the room but tea and coffee provided? QR Code for Room Service and Restuarant Menu links broken. Not a great stay.
