Room was spacious and clean. Had breakfast both mornings of our stay. The staff we’re friendly, the breakfasts were reasonably priced and the food was delicious

We stayed at the Mantra in Mackay for one night. The room 7006 itself was comfortable and nicely appointed, though it did show some signs of age. Check-in was a bit frustrating as the staff initially couldn’t find our booking and had trouble spelling my husband’s name, which caused a short delay. Our room wasn’t ready at 2 pm as advertised, so we had to wait about an hour, but the hotel was accommodating with a late check-out to make up for it. The breakfast was delicious the banana slices were a little under-ripe for my pancakes, but the presentation and taste were lovely. Jack enjoyed the big breakfast and the avocado, feta, and seed toast as well. We appreciated the staff’s willingness to assist and the overall friendly service. A few small issues: the room didn’t have Netflix or streaming options, only digital TV, and the bar selection seemed limited (we only discovered pineapple juice later). Parking access felt a little unsecured, as there was no boom gate. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and the staff were helpful, though some small improvements could make it even better.

Our stay at the Mantra was good. The parking was convenient. The ladies at reception were lovely and very helpful. The rooms have a good set up with basic kitchen needs and a small fridge. We found one room had a walk in shower and the other had a bathroom tub shower. One of the air con's said it was set at 25 in the room, but it was icy in there (thankfully she loved it). The TV's have different options in each room, with one of them having access to 7Plus on demand and the other didn't. The pool was beautiful and clean. Unfortunately the coffee at the restaurant was not good at all, very bitter and no amount of sugar helped. We ended up walking down to the coffee shop or the lighthouse fish and chip shop of a morning, as the restaurant coffee wasn't drinkable. Based on the coffee experience, we didn't try the food at Latitude 21. Thankfully there are a few options for food down the road and it was nice walking along the marina. The walk down to the beach is lovely as well. Overall the Mantra was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
