Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience on both occasions we stayed here — once when flying out of Mackay and again on our return. Both stays had issues with no hot water and a television that didn’t work. The room service app/order system also didn’t work, which added to the frustration. The main reason we chose to stay again on our return was the 24-hour check-in, which was genuinely convenient and appreciated after our flight was delayed. Unfortunately, given the repeated issues across both stays, we wouldn’t choose to stay again.

As an Accor member, we stay in Accor places as often as we can and the Ibis in Mackay has previously been a regular stopover due to its convenient location at the airport. However, we haven’t flown much over the last few years and so we haven’t stayed there for a while. I was disappointed that we no longer received a free drink, there was no welcome gift and, ost inconvenient of all, we were not supplied with bottled water.

I had originally booked through another source and thought every thing was fine till we arrived there at 8:15 to discover our booking had been somehow cancelled. Luckily they did have a room available and we used my member discount. Relieved and thankful after an eight and half hour drive.
