I rang the hotel to check details. It appeared cheaper to book though on-line booking company but Front of House staff member, Kushal, explained to me the benefits of booking directly with the hotel. The key feature for me was the location as I had an early flight out the next day. The location is right at the terminal so there was time for breakfast in the hotel in the morning before an early morning flight.

Your beds move around, not fixed to on the floor. Several months ago when I stayed at your hotel again, there was same issue. You can’t have a decent sleep on them. The mattresses were way too soft. Hair dryer was heat damaged (although working) but still kept there . There wasn’t even a bottle of water in the fridge for someone just arriving in this heat… I understand it’s meant to be basic but you’d expect a decent bed at least for $267 a night.

I had to fly in for an 80th birthday in Mackay at a venue not far from the airport. The Ibis was a perfect location as it was only 7 mins from the venue, and I could plan some extra sleep the morning after before flying out on a morning flight.
