ibis budget Singapore Crystal

I initially booked this hotel for only a few days, due to family corcumstances, I kept renewing my booking and ended up staying here for about 4 wks, each time swtiching my reservations between one room and two rooms . I got to know all the staff and each of one of them was not only very helpful and friendly, they all were very efficient in doing their job as well. Not suprisingly so, when I had the opportunity to meet with the manager, Mr. Nicholas Phyo, who had been very kind in accomodating our situation, I could easily see that Mr. Phyo leads by example and an excellent example he shows indeed. Mr. Phyo and staff graciously allowed us to keep the same room throughout our stay which was a complimentary upgrade from the type of room we booked. True to its budget hotel style, the room was not as big as in regular hotels (which is to be expected) but room cleanliness is way more important to me than room size. The housekeeping team is always hard at work and the results reflect that. The rooms were always sparkling clean, all the in-room toiletries and complimentary bottled water were replenished daily, the AC was always very satisfactorily cold. There were a couple of times I needed to call Front Desk for a bathroom light that was flickering and dead (two different incidents in two different rooms).. both were immediately taken care of and the issue fixed. The shower area is, as other reviewers have mentioned, considerably tiny, but again, for the rate we’re paying, it is acceptable. I also find the hotel location very convenient, 10-15 mins walking distance to Mountbatten MRT station and Old Airport hawker center (yummy and ridiculously affordable food & drinks), and 5 mins walk to bus stops. I learned quickly that the nearest bus stop has bus # 7 which will take us to Orchard Rd shopping area (basically the city center) without having to change bus. Catch a double decker bus and sit in the upper deck, that absolutely felt like we were in a very enjoyable city tour indeed. There’s also a 24/7 self-service laundromat about less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. At times, the hotel seems to be quite busy with people checking in, and yet the staff always handled everything efficiently. My first day arriving there, I arrived early morning, Rahul assisted me with check in and informed me that the room wouldn’t be ready until later. He helpfully infoed me where the closest 7-11 is, to get the local simcard and had my luggage stored. When I returned later in the day, he immediately handed me the room key and to my absolute pleasure, I found the AC in the room was already cranked up and the room being very nicely cooled. Much much appreciated that thoughtful gesture, Rahul! :) Ben, Siti, Neni were also always very polite and helpful.. my apology, I am forgetting the name of another female staff, but I will not forget her courteousness just like all the staff there. Bravo. For my future visit to Singapore, I would definitely pick to stay here again without a doubt. Such an absolute delight of people!

This hotel is quite a budget-friendly, clean and comfy hotel. It is a 2-star hotel but as it's a accor sub-brand, their service and quality were up to our expectation. Recommended for backpackers who don't really stay at hotel but need a quiet and comfy place to have a good sleep after exploring Singapore the whole day.

This is a review of the Superior Room Double Bed. Ibis Budget Singapore Crystal is a small hotel hidden within the geylang area. The check in process was quite fast, hotel staff was friendly. Upon entering my room, it was neat and tidy. The room itself is small but not that small. The wifi speed is ok, it isn't the fastest but it's decent enough to stream videos. There are 5 charging ports in the room for those who need them. The bed felt soft and comfortable, had a good night's sleep here. There were no noise pollution from other rooms around me so that is a plus but not sure if its due to my room being at the end of the hall or there are thick walls, I reckon the latter. The shower water was great, there is a water heater switch in the room so the water can get hot enough. There is no fridge in the room or any safes but there are basic amenities. Overall, it's a nice midrange budget hotel and I would recommend staying here.

..both worth staying I was advised by Reception the room is non-smoking but as soon as the Aircon is on whole room filled up with the disgusting smell of cigarettes smokes..total disaster for my Xmas..felt like a rip off not only on my wallet but also on my health..to say the least..never stay in this Ibis!!! Especially if you're nonsmokers..

Not a good area. Takes long to go to Singapore attractions. Staff were inefficient. They repeatedly called us in the morning on checkout day asking us to check out as soon as possible. Overall, a musty room with a lot of disturbance day and night.
