Amazing place and hospitality,I liked the small details like hand written cards,the bed was very well decorated for The Girl’s Birthday. Even the tv screen had invitation message for us specifically. Thank you so much.

1. Misleading Happy Hour Advertising: When we checked in, we found flyers in our room advertising a happy hour with a 2-for-1 offer, and the same promotion was displayed on multiple screens throughout the hotel. When we went to the bar, we were surprised to be told by our server that the offer was no longer valid and had only applied during the December holidays. This was confusing and frustrating, as the advertising was still clearly visible. It felt misleading, and we did not appreciate what appeared to be false advertising. Additionally, our server did not seem confident about what was happening. When I asked for a gin cocktail recommendation, she had to defer to the bartender, and the same was true when I asked about the happy hour promotion. 2. Fire Alarm Incident & Lack of Communication: A fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, and there was no clear guidance or communication from staff on what guests should do. Several guests, ourselves included, were left standing outside our rooms without direction. I attempted to call the front desk, but the line was engaged and it took several minutes to get through. Eventually, I was informed that it was a false alarm originating from the kitchen. There should be a faster and clearer way to communicate this information to guests, as in a real emergency this lack of coordination could have been dangerous. 3. Room Service Menu Accuracy: We attempted to order pizza via room service, but were told it was unavailable despite it being listed on the menu. To avoid confusion and save time for both guests and staff, it would be helpful to keep the room service menu updated daily to reflect what is actually available. 4. Front Desk Interaction at Checkout: During checkout, we shared the concerns outlined above with the front desk staff member assisting us. While she was polite, her demeanor came across as somewhat indifferent or standoffish, and it did not feel as though our feedback was received with the level of seriousness or attentiveness one would expect when a guest is raising concerns. I understand that not all staff may be comfortable handling complaints or negative feedback; however, when guests take the time to share their experiences, it is important that they feel heard and taken seriously. If front desk staff are not equipped to handle such conversations, it may be helpful to provide an alternative process or point of contact where guests can be referred to share feedback, both positive and negative. This was our second stay at Gem Forest. We previously visited around mid-2025 (June/July) and had such a wonderful experience that it prompted us to return. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet the same standard we remembered, which was disappointing given our positive expectations.

Very rude staff specifically: Stephen and Robert at front desk. Dirty spa. Closed pool bar. Dirty mirrors upon check in.
