From beginning to the end of our 2 night stay it was fabulous. Lori and the rest of the reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The bar and restaurant staff the same courteous and efficient without being over friendly or stuffy. John and the breakfast staff were more than accommodating. We felt safe and happy with the security people at all times. The staff at leisure centre the same and very helpful as were the housekeeping staff. Although there are a few touch ups the hotel needs we could see these were being dealt with over a period and look forward to staying with you again. Yvonne and Catherine

I have stayed at the Mercure quite a few times and I'm never disappointed! Lovely staff & clean hotel just outside of Nottingham city centre! Standard rooms are a little on the small side so would a recommend a King room. Huge thank you to Bilum and the front desk manger for being so kind and friendly on arrival! Will be back shortly no doubt!

Good location, poor room

We stayed with you about 7 weeks ago, the room was large but needed refurbishment. This time the room had recently been refurbished but it was TINY. It was hopeless for 2 adults with luggage. Air conditioning difficult to work. Sorry not a good experience.

Efficient check in and friendly staff. Nice room with comfy bed and good AC. Bathroom clean though shower flow weak. Breakfast was disappointing.

The first room I was checked into the door chain pulled straight out the wall when I tried to use it. I was moved into another room which wasn't correctly cleaned. There was a large blood stain on the curtain, one of the pillow cases was dirty and the side tables had not been wiped properly. I didn't ask for another room as I was exhausted and needed to sleep. Poor attention to detail in housekeeping standards. The blood stain is evident when you close the curtain

Very small room, dangerous walking by TV. Would not stay again

Arrived Sunday left Wednesday morning, only 1 small bottle of shampoo and 1 small bottle of shower gel for 2 people was in room, very poor. Three small cartons of milk per day for 2 adults, again extremely poor. We have been in many hotels in UK and abroad and never ever had just 3 cartons of milk. Penny pinching!! Have stayed in this hotel when it was Park Inn which was better.

Hotel is cold… Receptionist sits with a heather between her legs to keep warm… brown staining on the walls & ceilings… bathroom Tiny… lighting awful… especially for applying make up.. kettle had to be placed on the floor to boil as no socket anywhere near placement.. Tv signal awful.. bed poorly made with a big green sticker stating king size sheet that kept sticking to my back… breakfast sat under lights & didn’t look fresh.. in the cold breakfast old cheese & meats with curled edges… coffee machine out of order… Overall a very disappointing experience.. I would expect of a budget hotel…

Broken sleep

The hotel checkin experience was good. I’m left unsure as to your clientele as there were a lot of comings and goings through the night. I had drifted off to sleep around midnight, but was awoken at 2am, with the room next door having another door open/close event and the lady seeming to enjoy herself yet again! That said, by far the biggest issue for me was the maid service knocking on my door at 07:30 on a Saturday morning further breaking my sleep. Why would any hotel believe a 7:30 wake up on a Saturday was acceptable? I tried to drift off again, but was left with a bad nights sleep.

Great experience from start to finish. Warm welcome from Ruwan on reception. The room was nice, very clean with a modern decor and there was little something to say happy Easter (nice touch).We popped down to the bar to get our “complimentary drinks” and met Domink (what a nice guy). All in all a great experience. Shame we could only stay one night.

Can’t fault the food, the breakfast had lots of variety and the cooked food was perfect. All the staff were friendly which created a happy and relaxed atmosphere, The hotel was lovely and clean but the only problem was the room size, it was too small! there was nowhere to put our bags and only a tiny area to hang our clothes.

Friendly, helpful staff, clean room with a lovely shower. Perfect location for the city and loads of free parking. Didn’t have Breakfast but it looked lovely. Rooms are quite compact but bed was very comfy. Only downside was that the boiler for the pool was broken so we didn’t get to have a swim. Would definitely stay again.

This was not as one would expect for a 4 star hotel. The restaurant was diabolically slow, it took between half to one hour between meals before you got your next course and there were very few guests in the dining room, so it should have been a lot quicker, the brussels were hard even after we complained they were still hard the following day. There was very little on the menu with no specials on the list either. The hotel cleaners were not good at their job, leaving the bedroom without all the usual items that should be restocked regularly. On one occasion we had to ask for about six different items missing, plus a bath towel. They took all the bedroom phones out, so in an emergency you could not call down to security for help, (You could not use a mobile as it would not get you to the hotel security only to central reservations which would be no good to us in an emergency).At one stage we nearly called 999 on our mobile as we were so worried about a fight in the corridor in the early hours of the morning. We had our grandchildren with us so we were extremely worried.
