The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Obviously staying anywhere during this season of life feels very weird but I must say even with all the protocols they didn’t make you feel weird. Great stay

Nicely greeted at reception, easy check in. Rooms refurbished to a good standard, some rooms smaller than others but adequate for a pleasant stay. Walk in shower plenty of hot water. Despite Covid restrictions staff made every effort to provide as many services as possible.

Room is extremely large and very comfortable. I used it as an overnight stay prior to a meeting the following morning. Male staff member who checked in was polite but a little unfriendly, however in the current situation this is understandable. Other staff were very nice. Overall a good stay.

Hygiene was alright. but room was very cold and bad time for air conditioner to malfunction. Had to survive with two oil radiators, which wasn't really effective in making the room warm enough

VERY PLEASANT AND COSY ROOM. EXCEPT FOR THE VERY NOISY MACHINE ON THE ROOF. AFTER REPORTING IT THE STAFF IMMEDIATELY MOVED ME TO ANOTHER ROOM AMD APOLOGISED STAFF WERE EXTREMELY FREINDLY AND HELPFUL AND ADHERED TO COVID RULES. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND ARRIVED TO MY ROOM AT PRECISELY THE TIME THAT I REQUESTED. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN SHOULD I BE IN NOTTINGHAM..

The room is too small, the shower doesnt work. There were to lil water out the shower. Heat didnt work for 2 nights and after that changed to other room which was no refrigerator. Order room service but the food was too poor. The same hotel in austria was much better

On check in I was asked to provide evidence that I was an essential worker. Unfortunately, I didn't have any relevant documentation proving I work in education. If I had been informed prior to this when booking I would have made sure that I had the relevant documentation with me. It did seem rather odd that two colleagues of mine, who both work at the same college, checked in 20 minutes before me and neither of them were asked for proof of work.

The hotel is definitely taking precautions with Covid and is a very safe place to stay in this regard. The restaurant was very quiet but we enjoyed our dinner and the bar/restaurant staff were outstanding.

Very empty hotel due to COVID. Room 366...the room was cold on arrival and the heating did not work but oil filled radiators were bought to the room which did the trick as we were not prepared to move, but there was one already in the room which probably told the story! No caps on the shower controls so it took a while to work it out, large amount of dust in the bathroom, needed sweeping!But good sides...the room was large and comfortable, we were the only people in the bar and the reception was also empty. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Pleasant stay and covid aware.

From the moment I stepped in the hotel,the receptionist was really friendly and looked like she knew who I am. From breakfast John was absolutely wonderful. He made our experience so beautiful. Breakfast was good. A disclaimer about the shower. Is not easy to clean properly with the rain shower. I want to suggest the normal shower.

The double room which we stayed in was extremely small and there was no room to move around or put luggage down or store suitcases. There was no telephone in the bedroom so it was difficult to all the taxis. Due to Covid safety precautions, the restaurant and room service finished between 9 and 930pm which was very early. There was no opportunity of a late evening snack or drink Due to Covid safety precautions, the swimmingpool and the gym and exercise facilities was closed. On the positive side, there was free parking and the shower was very nice with plenty of hot water, although the bathroom was also very small. The reception and bar staff were excellent and their attitude and service in what are obviously difficult circumstances, was admirable. Due to all of these things my wife and I would sadly not return to this hotel.

Room was fine, comfortable and clean, booked specifically as early breakfast options were available. However breakfast was poor. and required boiling water so not exactly able to take away and eat on the go! No pool facilities which was again one of the only other reasons I booked two nights so I could enjoy the pool on the Monday. As this wasn't available I didn't stay on Sunday night and was rejected a refund of the second night or even a voucher for a stay another time. So overall pretty underwhelming experience. Finally air conditioning unit was particularly noisy and there was a disturbance at 530-6am in the morning (some guy screaming and shouting) I understand this is completely out of the control of the hotel but it seemed to take far to long to deal with, i.e. getting the police called to deal with the out of control person!

heater was not working in my room, instead of offering me another room, they gave me an eletric heater, it was nice of them, but not enough to warm up my room. Breakfast selection was poor for Mercure or start hotel standard
