Queue to book in upon arrival. We were not told to keep the door key away from car keys or phone which wiped the door card config. Huge room for 1 person, facilities were good - cleaning could be a little more thorough in bathrooms. Couldn't hear guests in other rooms either side just people passing in the corridor outside. The bar area and restaurant was very cold, but food was lovely.

We enjoyed our stay. Room staff kept room clean and tidy. Other staff: restaurant, reception etc friendly and helpful. The only minor criticism was having to go outside from our room to hotel's main reception, bar and restaurant. A couple of times when moving from our room to the above facilities it was pouring with rain.

On arrival the walk up to and into reception was littered with discarded Confetti Containers and Cigarette Butts. The Front of House supervision was non-existent, during the later pm and evening the entrance to Reception become a smoking and drinking area resulting walking through clouds of smoke/vape. The following morning the immediate front area was covered in broken glass from discarded beer bottles. The cleanliness of the bar and restaurant area was tardy and in need of refurbishment or at least effective hygiene. The room was particularly hot and not helped by a window with restricted opening, again the standards of maintenance was poor and areas where cleaning was non-effective or not done.

We had a lovely stay at Tankersley for our first wedding anniversary, and we'd booked the anniversary package. However there were just a couple of things that could have made it slightly better. The steam room was closed in the gym, so one less spa facility to use which was dissapointing. The service behind the bar at night could have been improved. I first ordered two cocktails, to be told they weren't serving cocktails tonight, no reasons why or apologies. I then ordered two Gin n Tonics, and was told there was no gin glasses. When your paying over £15 for two drinks, I like to be served a drink how it should be drank, not in a tumbler with no garnish or straws. Then when ordering our meal at night, there was no steak, no ribs, a few starters was off the menu, which spoilt it a little for us. We did enjoy our stay, and we would come back as it is special to us as we got married at Tankersley in 2023, however I do think the service could be improved.
