The service and food and most of the common areas are wonderful. The service, from check in, concierge, exec lounge, and the fitness center. But the rooms, while well appointed suffer from water damage and mildew smell. The first suite I checked into had a sofa that wreaked of mildew and had actual mildew stains. I was moved to a second suite on a higher floor where I stayed for the week. But I could not hang my clothes in some of the closets because they too smelled of mildew. This is not acceptable and must be remedied. It is my understanding that the 4th floor is currently receiving such an upgrade. I would return to this hotel post-upgrade but not before. My direct comparison is a previous stay at the Kempinski that, while more expensive, did not suffer from such issues with the rooms or facilities.

Very good food, excellent staff service Nora and Florence in the restaurant were great. Only the room had old, tired fittings include towers and gown. Non function iron, phone in 103. Renovations are being done but towers and gowns don't need to wait.

I am writing to express my strong concern regarding a serious incident during our recent stay at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra. Two of our team members had cash stolen directly from their rooms—$300 from Mr. Abdullah Magdy (Room 340) and $400 from Mr. Hesham Hassona (Room 301), totaling $700. While the hotel did reimburse the $700 following an investigation, this safety breach was deeply disappointing. Given this security issue, I will no longer recommend this property to any of our clients moving forward.

We regret the concern and disappointment arising from the reported loss of cash from the rooms of Mr. Abdullah Magdy and Mr. Hesham Hassona. We understand that such a report can understandably cause concern and affect a guest’s confidence in their stay .Following the report, the matter was promptly escalated to our Management and Security teams, and a thorough investigation was conducted. Our investigation was unable to independently verify the exact amount of cash reported or conclusively establish the circumstances surrounding the reported loss. We also noted that the in-room safes provided for the secure storage of valuables were not used in this particular instance. Nevertheless, following the investigation, Management, as a gesture of goodwill, provided a resolution to the matter. Guest and staff safety and security remain among our highest priorities. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining appropriate security standards, we have reviewed the circumstances surrounding the report and are reinforcing relevant security procedures and preventive measures. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and remain committed to providing all our guests with the standards of safety, security and hospitality they expect from Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.
