The hotel has very friendly , efficient and helpful staff both in person and on the phone. A few points could really improve the experience of travellers: firstly rather than powdered milk it really should be possible to provide guests with either small milk pods/sachets (containing real UHT milk) or a on request a complimentary small quantity of milk from the kitchen to be stored in the g.'s fridge. It is extraordinary that guests are currently charged for milk. An Ibis in any other part of the world would have milk sachets or pods as standard, whilst these may perhaps be expensive in Accra, a small portion of milk for those that do not wish to drink chemically dehydrated milk, should be possible. I am very surprised about the design of the hotel that has put the most expensive rooms in the noisiest part of the hotel i.e. right next to the lifts. I reserved two suites for me and my father and one of our suites (mine) was extremely noisy because on the top floor, the lift was particularly noisy due to some kind of mechanical sounds that reverberate in the room each time the lift is in use. Most guests wishing for a peaceful night's sleep would ask to be placed far from the lift. However, I didn't think about location when opting for the suites. Thankfully helpful Richard at reception arranged for me to be moved after my first night and the fourth floor was much quieter. I would strongly recommend that the design is reviewed because the lift area is always noisier, either because of the mechanics of the lift shaft, the sound of the doors opening and closing or just people gathering in the corridor. In this instance it is the mechanical sounds that are really noticable, particularly on the 9th floor. Tt is a shame that the more you pay, the less you sleep. It would be helpful if the water stations could be promptly filled as during my three-night stay the water on the two floors I frequented, did not seem to be in use. A critical issue regarding the booking process does need to be sorted out so that those who have prepaid, have actually prepaid. Whilst I should have spotted from the booking confirmation email that only a 'hold' was put on my card, it is very confusing to be told in the same email that no money is to be paid at the hotel. The opposite is atually true. It is slightly embarrassing and potentially problematic for a traveller to have to make what is essentially an unexpected credit card payment that will be subject to currency translation fees which would not otherwise have been incurred. One final point about the airport shuttle pick up, I think it would be very helpful, where possible for customers to receive an estimated time of arrival of the driver. My expectation was that the driver would be waiting for us and not the other way around. Luckily I have a Ghana mobile and was able to call him, however, others might not be so fortunate. It still required an element of hide and seek which can be quite tiring at the end of a long journey.
