Perfectly located just beside the UBahn, but kind of a scary unpleassant area, I wont recommend the area if you are traveling alone, to many spooky people. Hotel is a perfect theme, and you really feel that its in an old watertower. Rooms are cosy, breakfast is perfect, even a cook who can povide you with fresh omelets, then why only 3 "Stars", could you ask. Because the reception who is the face of the hotel, the first thing you meet as a guest, are on a very very low level. Very little information given, normally you are giving the basic as guest, check-out, breakfast is from /to, but nothing. No information that you needed a coin to get out of parking, had to find out myself. I have had much better service at low level hotels Restaurant is okay, but be aware of that if the run out of some sides, they just change it without asking, we had our potatoes with onions changed to french fries, so again there the service level could be much higher. With a better and more infomative reception staff and restaurant staff, this hotel could be a 5 star.

The hotel has great potential but was ultimately disappointing. The location and breakfast are great. The restaurant offers a limited selection of food that does not match the quality of the food that is easily available in the local district. The bar is fine, but on two successive visits (one month apart) was out of stock of selected items. The biggest disappointment is the fitness center. There are few machines. One was completely out of order and the others were not well maintained. Furthermore, the fitness room is far too hot, and the water fountain was not working. I stayed 9 nights at the hotel and during this time the water fountain was not repaired. The hotel offered bottled water as an alternative, but on half of my 8 visits to the room there were only empty bottles.

This was our first time in Hamburg and in Germany. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was most memorable for the wide range of fresh food products and cooked food. We slept well but found the shower water fluctuate, query due to a high floor. Great views of Hamberg.

Everything at Mövenpick Hotel felt truly 5-star, from the very complete breakfast to the restaurant’s amazing terrace, the cozy sauna, and the beautifully designed rooms. Staying in a stylish, modern hotel that’s built inside a former water tower was a unique and charming experience. If I come back to Hamburg, I will definitely stay here again.
