Missing door in a bathroom

We booked a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at Diamond Beach Resort, paying around $500 per night, expecting a basic level of comfort and privacy. On arrival, we were shocked to discover that the main bathroom in Apartment 143 was completely unusable — it had no door at all. The door had been entirely removed, making the bathroom impractical and unacceptable for a family or group stay. We raised this issue immediately at reception, however no solution was offered. Our request to be moved to a different apartment was declined, despite the apartment clearly not meeting minimum expectations for a paid two-bathroom accommodation. The second bathroom did have a door, but unfortunately the lock was broken, which again compromised privacy. Charging premium rates for apartments that are outdated and fail basic functional requirements is not acceptable. A bathroom without a door is not a minor issue — it renders the apartment unsuitable for its advertised purpose. This stay was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend booking here unless management addresses these fundamental maintenance and quality issues.

Our family had an excellent stay at Breakfree Diamond Beach. Initially we had some reservations after reading recent reviews but our 3 bedroom apartment was renovated, modern, spacious and well equipped. The grounds and pools were very attractive and great for children. The reception staff were helpful and the location was a short walk to the beach and Pacific Fair. This is an older resort but we booked directly with the resort as apartments in their letting pool have been renovated and ours was lovely with expensive appliances. A very nice stay and recommended for families.

Dirty and disgusting

Cockroaches everywhere, both dead and alive. There were soap pieces in the shower and hair from former tenants. There were also stains on the sofa and generally dirty. They also charged us a fee for poor cleaning. They said they had picture proof, but when we requested to see the pictures, they never answered.

Upon arrival we noticed that the apartment was quite dirty. There was laying used soap pieces in the showers, covered in hair from previous people. In addition to this, there was laying dead cockroaches in several rooms. After our stay we were charged a big amount because they said the trash wasn’t taken out upon departure and that there was a stain at the floor. That was not correct, as we had taken all our trash and the stain were there when we got there. They said that they had picture proof they could send us, but are not answering us when we asked to see them. It’s been two weeks now, and we haven’t heard anything yet. This is not a sustainable way do run a business. I would think twice before booking with them.
