An overnight stay visiting relatives. Rather disappointed with a few issues: reception was also a bar so we had to wait whilst the receptionist served drinks to customers; room small and airless: no outside window; beds not very comfortable

The room was lovely decorated and clean that’s where is ends. Tv didn’t work we were told unable to fix. No service on our phones so couldn’t even access any music or anything that way. Check in was long and no happy welcoming face or chat. Check out even worse wasn’t asked how my stay was. When returning to the hotel at around 11 was told we couldn’t get a drink to take to our room not even have any ice to put in our water

Can honesty say the saff was welcoming, lovely and COVID-19 safe. I didn’t feel out of my comfort zone everything was clean within government guidelines but at the same time didn’t feel too restricted stays for two nights and wish we had booked longer. Definitely the brake away we needed. I would 100% recommend this small quirky hotel.

We walked into the hotel and it was so quiet there was no one around and we didn’t see a single other customer for the whole of our trip, however throughout the night I was woken up repeatedly with doors banging about, staff talking to loudly down the nails that kept us up all night, we woke up around 8 which was pretty early as we wanted to go out for the day and about 10 minutes after waking up someone started drilling something into one of the walls near us. If we was asleep that would’ve woken us up easily as it was so loud! If it was busy in the hotel I could probably look past the doors slamming as the doors are heavy and people drink etc but we didn’t see one other person and it went on for hours on end waking us up! The hotel itself was really nice and the decor was lovely, the room was comfy however there was coffee marks on the bed which we noticed when we woke up however neither of us drink coffee so I am now unsure on if the room was actually cleaned properly which is awful especially considering we are in a pandemic so should’ve been spotless! The toilet roll also wasn’t changed we was left with the end of a roll and one other new one! Overall a really bad experience which is a shame because the room itself was really nice and it could’ve been great! Won’t be visiting again unfortunately.

Easy check in, however guest map of hotel should be provided. Got lost on several floors trying to find room on check in and check out. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable, and room amenities great. Pricing at bar though rather high. Would likely recommend to drink at the pub around the corner. All in all, a nice one night stay! Thank you.

Gorgeous room; originally booked as a standard double but after mentioning it was my boyfriend and I’s anniversary, they upgraded our room without hesitation. Hotel was lovely and perfectly located. Couldn’t be happier.

There is no dedicated check in area. Had to ask at the bar about check in. Lady who checked us in told us the room number and that the room was on the lower ground floor. Very business like, not very friendly. Didn’t even direct us as to how to get to the rooms which is at the very back of the hotel. Room was very small. Too hot even after turning down air conditioning. Bed a bit too hard. Can’t fault the cleanliness and there was everything you would need for an overnight stay. Disappointed as have stayed at the hotel before it got taken over by The Mecure group and had really liked the hotel the 1st time we stayed here.

Well located in the city centre. Staff not overly accommodating upon arrival. Priveledge Room for 2 people yet only 1 bath robe and pair of slippers. Only 2 coffees in room, and when asked in reception for more, non available. Also my partner and I drink different drinks however there was only 1 spoon, so had to wash it between uses.

Used the hotel staying for my sons uni open day. Nice decor, good breakfast, clean and most importantly really helpful nice staff. Location is OK and some great restaurants in the street but currently a lot of building work which is slightly off-putting down the other end of the street. Would use again if the rates were at the right level.

Very average stay In sorry to say. Upon arrival, having walked from the station in sideways hail and freezing temperatures, I had to wait five minutes before I could check in because the bar is the reception desk and the barman is the receptionist. So until the two guys in front of me had ordered and paid for their beers, I just stood there wondering how I’d inadvertently booked such a Mickey Mouse hotel. Up in the room the hearing didn’t work so that was great too. Don’t book this hotel if you’re expecting the descent standards you usually get from a Mercure. This just isn’t that place.

Overall we were quite satisfied. But; we booked bed & breakfast, which was served from 6.30 until 10.00 am. We were staying in Leeds to attend a concert at the First Direct Arena, so we had a long day having travelled from home in the morning. We went down for breakfast at about 8.50, although there was plenty of hot traditional English breakfast available there was no prepared fresh fruit, yoghurts and very little in the cold buffet. The notice stated the healthy option as being fresh fruit salads & yoghurts. As my wife does not have cooked breakfasts she asked if there was any more prepared fruit or yoghurts available. The staff pointed to a bowl with a few apples & oranges in it and said that was all they had. I then asked a lady, whom I think was the duty manager, if there was a chance of any more prepared fruit or yoghurt and she replied that there wasn't as they were waiting a delivery. Had we gone down to breakfast towards 10am, when they were about to shut down then I could understand, but you would expect a full selection to be available more than an hour before the breakfast time ended. A member of staff's only suggestion was that the chef could peel an apple for my wife! I had the full English & cereal which was fine but my wife initially had to make do with orange juice and a coffee although a little later a plate of warm croissants was brought out so she one of those. We have stayed in a number of hotels within the Accor Group in various parts of the world and unfortunately this has been the most disappointing. Having paid extra to include breakfasts we did expect a decent selection of food for those not having cooked to be available and it certainly was not.

Fire alarm intermittently going off from 8am, no instruction on whether to evacuate or not. No apology or acknowledgement about it at check out (Morning of 26th Feb) Tea/Coffee not checked, one pack of biscuits was already open - doesn't instil confidence for using other items. Shower overly complex, no instructions. Tiling around shower really dirty and sealant needing replaced. Screws hanging on bedroom wall where decorative button had been removed. Bed looked big and inviting, however was 2 singles zipped together, could feel the join as you lay in the middle - expected as you get this in most hotels but was really disappointing to see the bedding was also zipped together in the centre. Over all was really disappointed - would be unlikely to stay again.
